The president of the United States of America is often said to be one of the most powerful positions in the world. But of all the US presidents accused of abusing that power, only one has left office as a result. Does Richard Nixon deserve to be remembered for more than the scandal that ended his presidency? Let me give my two cents about this. I love american political history and since Im Argentinian, I think Im pretty unbiased about the subject matter. On regards Watergate, it might be that Nixon was telling the truth about not knowing about who call the shots. At the time he was pretty distrustful of the CIA and specially CIA Director Richard Helms. Helms also might have been a big influence on pushing the whole Chileian affair to Nixon since he repeatedly insisted to him about how urgent the matter was.
Of course, Im not saying that Nixon has no blame on any of this, but it does seam like history isnt very favorable with poor Richard.

To compromised some principles to achieves results but law breaking and covered ups treaten the very fabric of the nation is built on.
Just to sum it up. Even though you do some good thing. Does give you the right to ignore the law.
Being politician or president but if you ignore the law then you're a dictator and tyrant as well, yes most of them will say it for the good of the country but in the end it for their own gains.

I swear this Addison Anderson narrators voice is digitally chopped by even splitting each letter into it's own frame, then pieced back together and sped up 1000 times! No way that's a normal croaky voice. especially if their chosen profession is narrating

I find it funny that one of the big reasons for the sino-soviet split was that the Chinese leadership believed that the Soviets were too peaceful and soft with the west. and then it was China who opened up economic ties to the west first.

Nixon want to China as a way to break unions and outsource labor. Unions we're strong then business lobbyist knew they couldn't legally defeat them so they outsourced labor overseas. Mao could give them cheap labor.

The current Traitorous un-American Psychopath Lying Criminal in Chief is making Nixon looking like a boy scout. And to be fair Nixon did so some good for the country and the world, unlike the current useless scumbag

I'm going to put Nixon in the gray area as president. He did good as president and tried to do more, but a lot of the wrong he did countered that.
