Most of the people commenting here seem to be unaware of the unforgettable, perfectly splendid classic film, Wuthering Heights, starring a young and devastatingly handsome Lawrence Olivier as the fiercest and handsomest Heathcliff one could imagine, Merle Oberon as Cathy and David Niven as Linton. Released in 1939, it's a black and white film and as wonderful today as it was then, thanks to marvelous performances and top production values, as they could only do in the golden age of Hollywood filmmaking. Never equaled.

So I'd never read the book, but watched the PBS Wuthering Heights. I like the movie better, because the characters were almost completely different. But I'm not completely through so maybe I'll change my mind. I AM enjoying the reading and really like the narrator.

Why is my Kinswoman Lady Agnew pictured here on the cover of this recording She is from the Scottish lowlands and was actually a real person. This is her portrait done by the artist Singer Sargent and it is displayed in Scotland’s National Galerie last I had known.

One of the many novels I unfortunately never got around to reading. I usually have trouble concentrating on audio books but this version is holding my attention 100%. Excellent story and narration. Gothic, melodrama of the highest quality.

Not to rain on anyone's parade but this portrait is definitely from the cover of one of the Benediction Classics edition of Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf lol

Shame the lady on the cover looks like she's from the 1890's rather than the 1840's !
