My assumption would be that she already knows something. Or perhaps I guess his original fall was just a normal fall and everything he saw was a dream

OK second comment, this guys voice is like those audiobook narrators you like get at Barnes and noble, especially when your on a 12 hour flight and need something soothing to sleep to and drown out the screaming kid that the parents act oblivious to.
