There was this Robert Mitchum movie. It was about these moonshine runners down South I never saw the movie, I only saw the poster in the lobby in the theater. I took the title and I wrote this song. I didn’t think that there was ever a place that was like what I wrote this song about. I didn’t know if there was or not We were out in the desert, over in the summertime, driving to Nevada, and we came upon this house on the side of the road that this Indian had built. Had a big picture of Geronimo out front, said Landlord’ over the top Had this big sign said This is a land of peace, love, justice and no mercy. And it pointed down this little dirt road that said Thunder Road.
Bruce Springsteen: Capitol Theater, Passaic, N. J, September 19, 1978.

I am his living decendant, and he lives in me. I need to find his skull and return his bones home. I have been tortured and currently unable to move without being assaulted. My children can not even attend school. Geronimo surrendered to a dishonorable Military man by the name of Miles. Funny how our ancestors live through us. I wind up leaving my home on a whim and wind up in a small town, Miles. Living there has shown me how this world truly works. Life is a battle when you are a woman, Cherokee, Apache, Irish, Jew decendant of Geronimo, Magdalena, Carolinian, Lutz

Not one day goes by where I do not thank the great spirit for bringing such a powerful soul into this world and for all of his writings which have given us a proper history of the American Southwest from a NATIVE perspective rather than a Spaniard-Mexican and Anglo-American settlers' perspective, both of whom regularly lied about the history of the people they encountered in order to justify their genocidal actions.

My dad is tohono o odham. Apaches were no friends to his people. One reason they got screwed so badly is they made no friends or allies. The O odham helped US military against them. Same with other Arizona tribes. They came to Arizona late, after other people’s were already settled in, so they had to figure out their new lives around other tribes traditional grounds

The Guadalupe Mountains must have a lot of history for the Apache. The area seems to have many mysteries and when I camped in the wilderness area, a strange sighting occurred. I would like to find someone else that knows something about that area

This is the story of a true warrior. I am happy to get a chance to learn about their lifestyle and the principles followed by them. Thanks a lot for uploading this audiobook.

What I didn't fully get is why do some people sometimes shout his name out when they're jumping through the air
Like, Geronimo!
I don't think its respectful.

This makes me want to cry out against the injustice in this world. In the garden of Eden there was, and is, a snake. It lives and mars the lives of us all.

The Apache were drifters in reality athabaskins from Canada, a small tribe that kicked ass on the American continent fought 2 governments, proud to be Indian.

Now let me listen and try to dichotomize this whole audio biography not autobiography. See whether they're lying or not like they always do

St. Gerome St. Gerome was the cries of Mexican soldiers as The Apache Chief rode down on them attacking, thusly how Geronimo got his name.

Mexico must have really hated this legend. My man practically breathed to annihilate any Mexican he could find and understandably so

The first 2o minutes of this video. makes me want to do my own research. the first 20 minutes are suspect, in my logical opinion.

What was done to the Indians was worse then what was done to the slaves. The Indians were hunted down and simply massacred.
