they thought dinosaurs were still reptiles. how much we have learned since i was a kid in the 50’s. the thing that gets me is we have Neanderthal DNA in our genome. back then we thought they were sort of apelike still, but the first found had very bad arthritis in his neck snd shoulders. we didn’t know about continental drift or jet propulsion. i remember the first prop jet propulsion, and the first stereo record pl1ayers. Before those, we had Hifis (high fidelity) records, and FM radio. Hell, i remember when color television cane in. :.

Awesome. Crichton was a master of the airport novel, the 120-page novellas formatted out to 350-400pp. I doubt he was the first, but he certainly did it well. He had some clever stories despite the fluff, though. I’m actually reading Airframe again right now. I first read that one in the 90s, in anairport. Ha.
