I mean, much of her imagery is inspired by drag queens, yes, but is ones references and homages enough to discredit the talent they were born with and worked so damn hard to perfect? In Gagas case, she has proven time and time again that she is much more than what yours eyes conclude. Before any of it, (the fame, the persona, and the visuals) she was a brilliant musician and unique performance artist that found success through back to back hit records. Gaga was made by Gaga. Its is 100% true that a lot of Gagas references for her artistry are from drag, and without her over the top image she wouldnt have become who she is today. During her time, the artists that became big where the ones who stood out. Theres tons of people who have great talent and voices, but theyre boring and dont stand out.
