im still at the point where I have been before becoming aware of things, and frankly find the rudeness of the incoming inhabitants blatantly ignore the plight, that is still happening to this countries' rightful owners. tje native American people still are needlessly killed, abducted, cheated, and disreguarded as people. light on this country is a difficult thing to shine and the rest still laughing about the things done to make them feel like they are not deserving of everything that they need to live. lives matter, and then what about the tribes who did not make it past the Calvary and other plagues brought to a previously un ill race

The conversation with Danielle & Eric was really interesting to watch particularly as we are having conversations about the role of policing in our communities. Danielle's point that its not just the one officer who is committing a bad act but that there are other cops who don't say anything when they witness these actions was important. Eric's response on why cops don't speak up is also important to note. That is a toxic environment if you are supposed to be protecting people from crime but the culture prevents you from speaking out on crime you see before your eyes just because they are cops.

This was extremely enlightening. As a 23 year old Black Woman, Im still not as educated on some of these issues. We all are entitled to our own opinions and beliefs. However, when it comes down to our own biases, majority of the time we are ignorant to the issues at hand. This video was definitely a step in the right direction. More people need to realize that in order to understand someone we need to communicate. Judging, hatred, racism, etc. its not fixing anything but breaking our society.

Hmmm Paul saying these issues don't exist in Montreal is unfortunately false. Black Montrealers do have these issues. Canada might not be as bad as the USA but there is systemic racism, galas with only white nominees, being followed in the store and no representation on tv. Montreal has it's share of racial biases. I think Paul, because of his caucasian perspective, might not have seen racism

One thing i didn't see anybody mention that i would like a conversation on is how people interact with the police makes a big difference to how they react to the person. Black culture and white culture do not interact with police the same way. Long before the George Floyd protest my opinion is that black people had no respect for the police. I believe that would lead to more hostile interactions. (that doesn't condone the hostility just an explanation)

So I wonder, in the Animal kingdom survival depends on makeing quick decisions based on what we see immediately. Could it be that we, as humans, feel and say we are evolved. But, do those primal instincts still drive us to be scared of what we see and don't know or understand, sparking our biases. And then how much of that is learned as we grow, further fueling the flames of fear and hatred?

Ive always wondered why white people have always needed to pull the well I have black friends. Having a black friend, significant other or even work acquaintance is not some Racial Get of Jail Free card. If a white person were to so to speak say the N word they would apologize and say oh well I didnt mean any harm. I have black friends. Its not okay to use POC in your life as a validation

A lot of people criticize Judy but don't understand WHY she thinks that way. And to be honest I feel the same way too depending on the day. Somedays I use logic and understand not all cops, not all white people are bad. But there's times when another innocent person of color is murdered. And then another. And another. I don't even want to look at a white person.

I wish Martin had been more honest in the end, it wasnt a good conversation, Judy is incredibly ignorant and Id argue racist but she now thinks this was a productive conversation and that she provided thoughtful insight. Judy is so representative of what is wrong with our society and how racial bias, conscious or unconscious, continues to thrive.

He is 100% wrong! We did protest for her in Orlando because he shouldnt of been on the streets! He had already killed his pregnant ex-girlfriend and he was not searched for very well! She also did not wait for back up when she was killed. Still her death was wrong and God test her soul! But the ball was dropped many times before her death.
