Alligators in sewers is a very old reference. The entire movie -Alligator- is based on it. The story went that people would buy baby alligators for their kids, and when the babies grew too large, they would be flushed down the toilet to grow up into big killer adult alligators in the city sewers.

I was expecting the finale scene when he flys out over the bay with the bomb, when it does the countdown we have a shot of batman looking out at something that casts a shadow across his face. What could of been out there? It begs the question was it a bird? was it a plane? No its superman -

One other nod to the Joker comes in the novelization: when all of the prisoners were moved from Arkham to Blackgate, all of them except the Joker were moved, because he was too dangerous to be left in a normal prison complex.

This is all true except Bruce didn-t stop fearing death. The man in the prison told him that we had to do the climb without the rope so that he would have a fear of falling and dying. He lived because he was afraid of death.

I'm a year late. But they do actually mention the Joker at the start of the movie. They say the clown was left in an older prison when the rest of the inmates were shipped to black gate.

Another nice touch - Batman and Bayne each have a theme playing at their scenes. When Bruce climbs out of the pit, his theme overcomes Baynes theme. I found that wonderful

When they were handing out stuff out of Bruce's will (after fake death) they said that the pearl necklace is missing, which means probably Bruce gave Selina the necklace
