It irritates me how she caters to him and how he likes it. My parents were married in the 50’s like this time frame and mom never catered to dad. This is just another example of the subservience of women who are substitute mothers not wives and who’ll do anything to keep him. This man is a snot which he finds perfectly acceptable and she doesn’t get annoyed.

When the buzz saw started in, I thought for sure were going in
the front lobe as did Jack Nicolson in One Flew the Hell South!
Cheers, but what a cool 1940's vintage US Maid device, by Electrolux.
I was waiting to hear her comment on the cupcakes,
but instead, very clever sly rejoiced moment of delight,
and so Tasty too.

So instead of having her divorce this verbally and physically abusive husband, you show her retaliating by killing him instead of her leaving celebrating her independence, the perfect wife is shown to be a killer so you can get in your does of unnecessary violence. Epic fail.

I love that she stuffed her face with a cupcake at the end, good for her!
Also, I feel like the actress was struggling trying to swallow that cupcake, which is why she almost grabbed the milk a second time, but then she recovered.

The dangers of American women behaving like perfect world war two wives is what comes through this video. I hope it wasn't suppose to ALLUDE to Hollywood's standards of females. Prob should pick a different era if that's the case.

The writer pounds into the audience's head, over, and over, and over again the perfect 1940's-1950's housewife. There is no distinction between perfect WWII housewife and WWII Hollywood housewife.

From all of the short films I've travelled with on Dust, this is the one that has genuinely sent me into the Twilight Zone again. CONGRATULATIONS! and what great, lady in Red.

This was terrific! Especially toward the end every time I was like Are they really going to go there It went there! And with spectacular results. Great acting, great props. A fun watch.

Because in the last couple decades since 2006, Hollywood has pretty much thrown creativity out the window. All they're doing is superhero movies and reboots.

I really enjoy Dust films and feel that this film was well shot and scripted. But the story delved excessively into depravity at the end.

LOL! Mom never did all that housekeeping. She worked too so we had maids. Not Rich but middle middle class and maids were affordable.

Brilliant! So original. great acting and directing. And the styling is perfect. Walter is a true narcissist. And he got more than he expected

We're celebrating October by getting out of this world and into the horror-verse. Let's add a little spooky into our sci-fi!

What Women prepared drinks back then I never saw that. Dad made his own Scotch and water while he sang his funny songs.

I hate those times of treating a good wife or husband abusively. But it was a good short nonetheless.
reply

That is what the impossibility of a simple divorce makes to a woman!
Thank you, great work)

I am aware that the rest of the world makes movies. In fact, most of them are more creative.
reply

So this went kind of the opposite direction than the Asimov short story of the same name
reply

To bad they don't make women that nice anymore, i would have treated her like a queen.

It made me feel like I was watching an original episode of Tales from the Crypt. Great job!
reply

I'm so glad she blended his nuts. Couldn't tolerate that asshole for a second more.
reply

For that scene they must of starved her all day for her to eat that cupcake like that.
reply

Mmmm. THE last scene COOL. HAPPY TO EAT WHATEVER. NO NEED TO BE PERFECT TO BE LOVED
reply

Ooh, men are evil and terrible human beings. How original, how truly avant garde!
reply

Well all be. she beats Lorraine Bobbitt with a retro Kitchen Aid appliance.

Having trouble purchasing the attachment as a Xmas gift for my wife. Link

I was hoping there was going to be some payback for that head of a Richard.

Perfectly captures the suburban horror of Mid-Century Modern America.

Walter made Chad look great. He really deserved
the Perfect wife. eek

reply

Now you've got two glasses to clean -- that scene is so much touchy!
reply

The actress - Alexandra Hensley - did a great job. It's giving A24 Pearl
reply

Gotta say I had a lot of trouble suspending my disbelief with this one.

Still watching. Hoping it’s based on Asimov’s short story

Why were men in the 1950s abusive to their perfect wives
