If the monster is like the alien isolation type of ai which is unpredictable this whole thing would be dreadful and exciting. If not and the encounters are scripted, the moment the player realizes that, the tension would be gone.

I love the animation for charging the light batteries while holding the gun. It's just more realistic than other games where the character would put away their item to do another task.
