I'm a hardcore Halloween fan, let alone Hardcore Horror fan. and I am SO, SOA tired of Horror IPs being saddled to the damn Multiplayer genre. Far as I can see, half-half-bakead on arrival games.
Yes, like every entry of these games, there's a ton of love and references and nods and captures A essence of what these movies had. but it's saddled with needing an active playerbase, patches and balance updates and ultimately servers staying online.
They're also stunted by fact these ARE multiplayer genre and the limitations they have and needing to revovle around 4 VS 1 and not be more unique experiences. Especially the Horror aspect. Jason Voorhees being knocked down while survivors dance to Katy Perry's California Girls, remains rent free of what these games boil down to

I know Milwaukee peeps were/are mad about Dahmer Netflix series: The monster. I get it. But it is also information how some ppl can be sooo sick! I studied real life case and the series, damn they got pretty much 99% how it went down. My sympathy goes to those ppl who had to life with JD. without saying family membes included is automatically in symphathy list. Millwaukee just wants to forget the whole damn thang. Can u blame them

Idk, I feel about this game the way I felt about F13. I really want to like it. I was on the F13 Kickstarter! But the fact is, I suck at games like this. I did nothing but embarass myself as Jason. And being an even bigger Michael Myers fan isn't going to change that. In a multiplayer PvP, you could look at me as easy mode. And I'm not inclined to pay full admission price to relive the experience.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention anything about Illfonic’s & Gun’s track record with supporting these horror games. They are both apart of this game and I’ll be waiting a year to see if they even update anything and wait for a sale. They did Killer Klowns and Texas Chainsaw dirty. I wish we get more single player games with a full campaign. I’ll be getting Hellraiser day one.

Halloween: The Game should do great if it can maintain the same type of formula like f13keeping players casually playing without having to feel super limited or just force into things.
That’s one issue both Texas chainsaw & killer klowns hadthey are good game but it got blend/boring after a while and now it’s just a whole different game for tc and killer klowns nobody plays.

I absolutely love the holloween franchise more than Friday the 13th. Although I still bought Friday the 13th video game I had more fun with the Texas chainsaw massacre video game. I just couldn't get into Friday the 13th. Even if this game isn't good I know I still will have fun with it for nostalgia purposes. Just walking around the neighborhood will be enough for me.

Being surprised that this is fun as a survivor, when F13 existed and this is an evolved version of is just aggravating. I get that it didnt sell the best but some of the forgetful/surprising takes on the game, as if the template didn't exsist previously, is WILD!
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to hear the positive take, but fawk!

Let's talk about elephant in the room. The same developers known for Friday 13thGhostbusters The Texas Chainsaw MassacreKiller Klowns When the license expires, the online game will shut down, same as Friday the 13th. Plus, its marketing campaign was pretty lackluster. So you shouldn't expect high player numbers

Weird take here, but I’m buying this for the campaign. I know it’s short, and basically a glorified tutorial, BUT it’s what we will be left with when the servers inevitably go down in the coming years. So I’m just hoping it’s an offline single player experience. Obviously multiplayer will require online.

Sadly the devs lost me to support them ever again. How they abandoned Texas Chainsaw Massacre Instead of listening to the players they went radio silent then stopped development to work on this one. Gonna skip this and just watch my favorite horror streamers run around and have fun in it instead.

I'm not upset they're doing this, but this looks like a slightly mechanically updated reskin of Friday the 13th.
I'm sure it is fun and will be enjoyed briefly, but I'm assuming it will see the same drop-off as any of the other games that have tried to reinvent the Dead by Daylight formula.

I wonder why no one makes single player games with these licenses Like, what I want is a game where you play as Myers, Leatherface or Jason. I dunno, make it like a Manhunt game or something.
Personally, I just think multiplayer takes the scares out of horror. Probably just me, I dunno.

Listen I played it the game is great yes there are a lot of bugs and things they have to fix it’s a brand new game things will break and things will continue to break. Look at top competing games like dead by daylight or phasmophobia even fps games have new bugs every single day.

I was really expecting this to just be a reskin of F13th but now I actually am debating buying. I kind of hate the whole teleport thing as in the other game sometimes you would see Jason spawn literally right within view which was immersion breaking and felt cheap

It's actually fun to not play as Michael Myers.
I always preferred the wacky antics of playing as a counselor in Friday the 13th too. The appeal of these games isn't being the killer to me, it's trying to get away (or seeing how long you can last.

I was hoping for better but to me it seems like a flop from 5 other reviews. i imagine it will be a broken mess today for those who paid 60 if it does get alot of players due to the ip. I remember with Friday the 13th the servers were broke for days.

Surprised that you didn't bash the game for the lack of realism. So if we can stab Michael in the eye to get away, shouldn't that mean if we stab him in the other eye, that he shouldn't be able to see where we are making it easier to get away

8: 22 so the long term support I don’t think will be to big a deal. Cause people played Friday the 13 way after support needed until it was removed. If the game can give the Friday 13 gameplay feel then I think it will be fine on its own

Big L for doing a 'before you buy' and not mentioning anything at all about Gun Interactive's history, their greed, or abandoning their games.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre was also a 'labor of love' and that went downhill extremely fast.
