So, he wanted to put over what a nice guy Bautista is, but saying it won't be enough. So, he tells a story where he knows Bautista comes off really well. But he adds a twist: he flips the script and make himself out to be victim.
This way, he is able to speak from a position of mock outrage at Bautista's kindness. This makes it a genuinely interesting account, it draws a lot of laughs, plus it makes Bautista come off like an absolute saint.
