Sandra Bullock was the frontrunner to play Lois Lane in the doomed 90s Tim Burton Superman film. Obviously they never made it, but they got far enough into production to cast Nicolas Cage and start creating his costume. Unless she's forgotten (and it was like 25 years ago) this interview suggests the studio never actually approached her. Too bad; she would've been a terrific, spunky Lois.
