Dr. Jane Goodall talks about her love of animals, dreaming of growing up to study wildlife, her mother s encouragement, women not being scientists when she started out, bonding with one chimp in particular named David Greybeard, chimp language, the mourning and grief around a chimp when they die, being open to the idea that Bigfoot might exist, and her new Apple TV+ series Jane about the adventures of a little girl and her imaginary chimp. Katie: I agree w her, we shouldn t have chimps in captivity. Or any animals for that matter, unless they are being rehabbed and going thru processes of reintroduction into the wild. It s sad to me that GLAZA zoos do so much to conserve and protect wild life, but they are only able to by putting animals on display for people to pay for and donate to. I went to the La zoo, which I know funds for animal conservation, but it just feels weird observing how all the animals live. It doesn t feel natural at all. seeing the gorillas there made me feel so uncomfortable. They stare at you like they can understand you people were calling and screaming to them and I felt so bad. they were just staring back like why tf are you doing that. they are so eerily similar to humans to me, if that makes any sense. When you watch them, they do things that remind you of humans, more so than any other animal I ve seen. they are prob the closest animal related to humans at this point so It feels weird that we just capture them and put them on display. It feels so weird and uncomfortable to me. we need to find a better way to get people interested in caring and giving more to animal conservation without the exploitation of animals. They should be living their free lives in their natural habitats.

Why aren't we only eating bugs for protein? Chickens have character, like pigs and other delicious meats not listed here. lol
