The Untold Truth Of The Shield pathendlem: I feel like this show doesnt get nearly as much credit that it deserves for the trail it blazed. Yeah it got emmys and recognition but you never hear it mentioned in great TV show lists. It put FX original shows on the map and I feel like FX shows are just behind HBO when it comes to making high quality shows over its history. Yeah AMC might have breaking bad and mad men on their resume but FX had had so many high quality shows over the course of its history and it all started with the shield. Its themes of police brutality and minorities not trusting the police are more relevant now than they were 15 years ago. Everyone likes to revere the sopranos and breaking bad for elevating the antihero as a popular character and starting that trend but Vic Mackey IMO is right behind those two in terms of being a great antihero and the shield continued the trend that the sopranos started and breaking bad perfected. All the different characters were great and I cant really remember the shield ever having a bad episode. It definitely doesnt get the credit it deserves for the impact it had

I'm a huge Shield fan, but based on the way the show ended I can only see one of 2 possible ways that it could come back. One, a few episodes called Ronnie's Revenge, where somehow Ronnie gets out of jail, (maybe for telling somethings that he knows) and tracks down Vic (without him knowing it) follows him, watches him, and confronts him or kills him. #2 a new mayor of Farmington wants to bring back the swat team, and Vic who knows all the ins and outs is given a chance to train them or lead them but he has no police powers or badge, but still manages to do some corrupt things. Just my ideas, anyone else have any scenarios on how to bring the show back?

I remember while back how hook my mom was on when this came on every Tuesday night. The reactions on her face and the sound effects she made had me scared when I was young. I been wanting watch this for the longest. And fast forwarding in 2019, I understand now. I just finish the show. I can't put the words together how I feel, I'm to emotional right now. I am still trying process the whole thing. My gosh. Kurt Sutter is a genius. That's one thing about being 90s kid. All the phenomenal shows that went on when I were young, now I can binge watch the whole thing w/o waiting. Well, on to the next. Sopranos.

The only thing unrealistic about this show is. the cops are so bloody smart, when in real life, only a select few have any wits, and everybody has excellent lines. It seems like all the perps, suspects, people they stop, are all also witty, have excellent one liners, very funny and amusing, But in real life these people are often dumb as a rock or scared shitless, musch to much so to be feeding these cops these comedic retorts. Anyhow, the one time a suspect said that they stop him every time somebody takes a shit to smell his ass. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

The show was originally called Mackey, at least during the almost nonstop previews that aired on tv for a month or so before it premiered on FX. It was the first basic cable show to really go almost full-on in regards to what you could get away with at the time (2002) per nudity and profanity and violence. Interesting to note how NYPD Blue stepped up their quotients of mature content at the same time. Then Rescue Me came along soon after and kept it up as well.

I feel like this show doesnt get the credit it deserves. People always say they enjoyed it but the second Vic Mackey put a bullet in Terrys face, in my mind, Vic became the biggest anti hero on TV next to Tony Soprano. This show was groundbreaking in so many ways. Sure it had its ups and downs in certain seasons, but everyone who fishes over breaking bad (which they should, its another terrific show) should absolutely make sure they watch the shield.

Best cop show ever. And there's another chapter to be written here - fix some loose threads. What's Vic up to? Ronnie was in prison. Dutch was onto a fledgling serial killer kid whose mother had disappeared and Dutch suspected the kid. Acevada was in politics. Whimms was dying. How's Julian? (Would need another actor for that) And Dani needs a career boost.
Come on, Shield people - we need to know.

Who is rewatching the series in 2019? I am on my 5th time watching this again. GREAT SHOW! Nothing tops it! SWAT on CBS is trying to push the boundaries a little bit here and there with some scenes. Its trying. Its a good show too. I just wanna be like more The Shield-like and less The Swat-like The Shawn Ryan is working SWAT too. So theres that. A lot of the old cast is on the show too.

Thats really funny cause the shield is def my favorite show, but I never really loved Walters performance of Shane. He grew on me throughout 7 seasons but I always just assumed Walter googlins wasnt a great actor.
I realized just how wrong I was when I was introduced to BOYD CROWDER, one of my favorite tv characters of all times!

This was a great show. They should leave it at that. Ronnie is in prison, Shane is dead, Lem is dead, Vic is likely out of law enforcement by now. No way he managed to live by the rules set forth in his immunity deal. What would the show be about? Him trying to find Corrine and the kids? No thanks. Just let it be.
