Great psychological thriller. Great acting. Saw it at the theater and bought the DVD. Sadly though, if there wasn't so many references to Gotham City, the Wayne's, and of course the title of the movie. I would have never thought of him as the Joker. Maybe John Wayne Gacy. But not Joker.

He had the freedom to make the film he wanted.
But, if the studio made their own cut, or forced changes in the film, I'm sure he'd be all for a directors cut.
Especially if they made changes and then the film flopped, but it still had his name still attached to it.

The most notable scene in the trailer but nowhere in the movie for me was the scene Joker with full makeup walking down the walkway full of swagger while carrying flowers in his left hand. Or I missed it? But I watched the movie countless time already.

The stand up scene is different on the DVD than I was in theaters.
In the theater he had the whole Well no one's laughing now speech. The DVD cut it and played music to end that scene.

Anyone remember all the hate when this film was first announced, with the casting, and the idea that he would be a failed comedian? Anyone remember that?

I bet the joke at then end in the hospital was: What does me and Bruce Wayne have in common? Were both orphans
As it showed bruce Wayne at that scene
