Unpopular Opinions About The Walking Dead That Raise Good Points

Since its inception in 2010, The Walking Dead has earned its place as a long-running TV classic. Despite its overwhelming popularity, though, it's by no means immune to criticism. We're here to show you some unpopular opinions about The Walking Dead that raise good points. We're definitely not the first to notice that The Walking Dead plays like an inverted Star Trek. According to the imagination of Gene Roddenberry, post-current civilization humanity cooperates, prospers, and revels in scientific advancement and exploration. Meanwhile, people in The Walking Dead universe form tribes and go to war against each other, instead of pooling their resources and working together against an obvious and omnipresent common threat. While Star Trek is optimistic, The Walking Dead goes a step beyond pessimism into full-blown nihilism. For whoever's left of the gang, their victories don't really matter because they live in a world that's already been conquered by walkers. They just survive terrible things in order to survive more terrible things. Therefore, if the series ends with anything other than all the characters becoming dinner, it will have betrayed its central themes of futility and doom. Considering the fact that the writers have sometimes significantly deviated from the graphic novels' trajectory, there's no way of knowing if this inevitable conclusion will come to pass on-screen.

(everyone is doomed part) 1: 01 Well look at the comics and the CRM. Life will eventually find its way back. If you take a read into the final comic, Carl's Daughter had never seen a walker, and she's six years old, because by that point there's many checkpoints and safety zones. And while in the comic it looks like a old western theme town, which it kinda is, The Commonwealth troops look more advance the we last saw them 20 years before. And The commonwealth/America have a currency, have jobs and all that stuff. And thats gonna happen in the Tv Show, The Commonwealth is trying to restore America, and its doing it well, they're pretty advanced too.

I don t think it s repetitive. Seasons 4-6 brought a lot of cool story twists; the flu, Terminus, Alexandria, Wolves attack, No Way Out, introduction of The Saviors. Plus seasons 1-3 were all plenty different, and the human villains are plenty different. Only time I felt it was repetitive was The Whisperers storyline after the elongated war with The Saviors. But the show as on the downswing by then anyway.

I remember watching the series premiere and it was truly awesome. The first season was fantastic. Everything else was fairly boring, generic / uninspired. AMC firing Frank Darabont killed what could have been a groundbreaking show. Instead what we got was: Survivors find place to stay. Survivors have to deal with big baddie. Big baddie is defeated, but now they must move on to a new place. Repeat.

I really don't understand the complaints about Abraham and Glenn's deaths. Yes, their demises were violent, but what were you expecting? Yes, they killed off two fan favorite characters, but the show has been doing that since its inception. I really don't see how this was crossing the line when many beloved characters before them had also met grisly fates (Herschel, anyone.

TWD began it's downward spiral because of Scott Gimple and by the time he was replaced the dmg had already been done. There was just way too much damn filler ep that just flat out made the show boring. I think if you cut out all the filler ep and replace Scott Gimple w/ Angela Kang sooner you would have had 7-8 rock solid seasons of TWD.

This show fell apart for two reasons
1) they should have killed Abraham n Glen at the end of the mid season finale instead of making us wait until it returned
2) playing it too safe with main character deaths after season 6. This is a show where anyone could get it but they started playing it safe

Watching Glenn die was tough. I waited all that time to see who lived not who he will kill. Glenn was my favorite and it s now engraved in my brain as a realistic reminder of how bad humans are even if it s a fake show it was eye opening to say the least. Made it another season but then lost interest.

just by watching this video i can tell youve never really watched the show, and if you have, you stopped watching several years ago, considering most of these points are now irrelevant, dont make sense, or are actually quite popular negative opinions (such as the killing of glenn or abraham)

I think season 5 should have ended with Abraham s death. And then season 6 should have started with Glenn s death. So that away Abrahams death doesn t feel overshadowed but also between seasons we feel safe thinking Glenn might not die. (I hope I got the season numbers right)

Uhhhh. you kinda broad stroked the walkers taking over things aspect. More to it than, walkers show up, time to move to new spot. Also, Alexandria is still standing and according to the shows timeline, for like 10 years now. So they did not get driven out by walkers.
