Easter Eggs In Supergirl Only Real Fans Noticed Nelson: Have been a fan of the arrowverse in the past before it became the arrowverse (was just flash and arrow back then) but since they introduced more and more shows production quality has really dropped. The scripts are predictable and boring. There is no real meat to the stories and very one dimensional, mostly involving (cardboard) characters telling each other how wonderful they are etc etc and now save the world. Just really disappointed especially after the strong start that arrow had then it became a limp wet squib.

National city was created for the show. Really. You just prooved you dont know supergirl. Natinnal city is in comics. It entirely depends which supergirl you look at. Kara denvers never lived in natinnal city ill give you that. But. Linda did! Yes supergirl has another name she used to go by. At least another incarnation of her.
Nationnal city is in the comics you just didnt know the references to her other selves.
Also. Most of her storyline is superman storyline.

Technically, Kryptonite was created for the Radio Serial. Bud Coyller who voiced Superman/Clark Kent did other radio shows and needed a vacation so Kryptonite was created so he could have some time off. All they needed for that week he took off is some actor to moan as if being effected by the green rock.

I do like the CW shows. But I also do go check how things in the comics were, for example, in Arrow when we met Dinah, I found out Dinah Drake was Laurel's mother, and her name is Dinah Laurel Lance. And That Thea Queen was made for Arrow but is based on the female Speedy, Mia Dearden.

In season 3 Alex Danvers was telling Samantha/Reign that she used to a doctor in Seattle before joining the DEO which is a nod to her roll as Lexi Grey on Greys Anatomy which is set in Seattle

They'd have to be really dedicated fans. Of the show because even if you're into comics, you have to have pretty poor taste to watch it in the first place in order to catch the references.

Real fans noticed all the Superman mythos that was being converted and used as supergirl mythos. Real fans also noticed how little the CW show resembled the Comic Books it was taken from.

In one of the episode in Season 3, we learn Lenas middle name is Kieran. This is an Irish middle name referencing Katie McGraths, the actor who plays Lena Luthor, nationality.

The ending of season 1 episode 3:
Kara says: Do not watch Homeland until I get back.
That's a reference to her appearance in the Homeland show.
