In my mind, Rhaenyra has the right to the throne because Viserys already chose her as heir. He didn't choose his brother. And Alicent's offspring have no claim to it either.
You already see within the first few minutes how Jaehaerys chooses Viserys over Rhaenys because the latter was a woman. Whoever the reigning king chooses, that should hold true.
Dance of the Dragons is going to be a 2-year bloodbath between Targaryens. Dragonriders vs. dragonriders. To me, Otto screwed this all up pimping his daughter. He's like Littlefinger.
If Otto never pimps Alicent, Viserys wouldn't be poisoned. Alicent and Rhaenyra might still be friends. There would be no Green vs. Black Parties. Alicent wouldn't want her children to claim the throne since she wouldn't have any from Viserys.
Many Targaryens are going to die in this civil war. Otto and Alicent are bad news trying to defy Viserys' will. The root of it all is really Otto like Littlefinger was responsible for the war between the Lannisters and Starks.

I really like the actor portraying Viserys. Paddy Considine is doing an amazing job. I think Viserys is a good king. He cares to be liked and that's what makes him a good king.
If he doesn't care what the public thinks of him, then the people in the Seven Kingdoms are in trouble. You have to care to be liked or you end up ruling like Joffrey or Cersei. Dictatorship. It's like Homelander still self-conscious with his public image.
The cuts he's getting from the Iron Throne could be a sign that they're rejecting him. It's not poison. It's not greyscale. It's not from Otto or Daemon. The other theory is a sign of his declining health which happens in the book.
After Viserys dies, all hell will break loose. The Dance of the Dragons begins.

House of the dragon has most watch compare to Game of throne I guess is because when GOT first telecast, not many people know the series and not many people are watching it. More people only starts to watch GOT after probably people and friends around them talk about it and hence the audiences slow grow larger. For HOD, people who love the series already know roughly what to expect and no surprise its is the most watched. Hope the whole series is good from start to end. I don't quite like the GOT last season, quite disappointed. Last season can tell that they are rushing the whole thing.

How on earth did Smith get that role, his Character in House of the Dragon is supposed to be powerful, and commanding, but there is nothing about him that is that and he is not that great an actor

I'm guessing they'll be fans. Maisie said it's actually nice to watch a Westeros show she's not part of. She can finally watch it entirely as a fan. They all seem supportive.
