I really thought the story was gonna end with: turns out my landlord was actually a tenant. I was paying him double what his rent was. So he would pay the real landlord and keep the extra. After the 3 months were up I woke up to a strange family showing up asking me why I was in their house and where was John doe. And then that family would be the ones evicting you. But craziness nonetheless. Always keep proof of shit like this. Texts. Record calls. Take photos. Whatever. Always be skeptical.

okay this is old and no one is going to read this comment, but i have a theory. he could have been a tenant who sub rented to you, and HIS landlord was due rent on the 21st. when the real landlord didnt recieve rent on the 21st, he sent out the eviction notice straight away

Im so glad she is finally out of this situation in 2020. Honestly Tana has had a lot of drama and just bad shit in her name. However Tana has been through too much and screwed over for absolutely no reason and she honestly looks like shes striving and happy in 2020.

I can definitely feel what Tana went through. I literally gave up everything for my very first apartment in NYC, and it was the worst experience of my life because of my former roommates were complete bullies and would knock and harass my room at 11 every night

Story sounds a little shady, evictions take MONTHS and require court appearances. Not 5 days. Sorry Tana but I really just dont believe all the facts of your story. especially if you actually paid the rent. Makes very little to no sense.

That landlord sounds not right in the head. I would even be worried if that landlord does those things to more people and even worse things like hide cameras to secretly spy on the new tenants. Idk he sounds very weird and definitely crazy.

Even if this is semi-fabricated, leases that state we reserve the right to make adjustments also states that it must be made in writing. Never verbal. If any of this is true then yeah, this should have been a huge lawsuit.

the previous people who lived there that left because of lightning damage were probably the previous people who got scammed and hes probably continuing to do this to others cause thats how he got his money for a living

Maybe this is one of those things where he was renting the place from someone and couldnt pay it anymore so he set up Tana to just give him some money. Like hes the one who is supposed to get evicted.
