The beginning of baby smashing babies head & throwing babies, the dark miserable girls playing in the dirt represent: to discourage marriage & motherhood, smashing & throwing of babies is the abortion the is taken place in this country & beyond. Dont want yo kill it & throw it away. The tall, blond, black & white bathing suit Barbie towing over represent the evil & taking over is the loosen of feminism! People say oh you dont understand parody! No, children especially young girls dont understand it. What they see is registered & Will believe that baby dolls are no good & to throw it away! Evil. Motherhood is the greatest gift God gave woman!

Hated it. But then none of my sisters played with Barbie dolls, they werent a significant thing. And still arent. This movie was an horrific waste of really talented performers who gave their all to try and make a non-plot, childish movie interesting. And failed. The producers knew they had a massive lemon on their hands (albeit, a pink one) and marketed it to the point of false advertising. To be fair, they did keep telling us Its not what you think. And I suppose that is true. I thought it would be good. and it soooo wasnt. I wish you could get your money back from these scams.

I teared up all through the movie. so many emotions. Had 3 older brothers so I played with them and their friends; basketball, cops & robbers (lived in Chicago, snowball fights, etc. Dolls were boring as you had to move them and dress them and pretend (boring. playing with the boys was real time and fun. Ultimately, I saw the movie because GRETA GERWIG and loved it. the cultural references, amazing sets and music, and the messages it exposed and rectified. or at least leaves to us to rectify. Well done! Should win lots of awards.

while mentioning movie references, the one that probably literally NO ONE got was the subtle boardroom decor nod to the rainbow tunnel leading to The Alchemist's chamber in Alejandro Jodorowsky's The Holy Mountain.
also this video while mentioning the Matchbox 20 cover scene, forgot to mention Barbie in the convertible doing Carpool Karaoke to the 1989 Indigo Girl's hit Closer To Fine. almost the dichotomous opposite of Matchbox 20's Push.

Hating on white guys at an all time high and we don't give a sh#t or cry about it. The second anyone makes a JOKE about any women or minority it's too far, tone deaf blah blah blah.
Let's all get back to the place were ANYONE can make a joke about anything and not trying to #cancel them.
Everyone these days love to inject themselves into situations where they have an opportunity moral grandstanding and virtue-signaling.

Yikes, I've never thought about this movie from young peoples perspective. I admit, I barely think of anything at all from young peoples perspective. If you don't recognize these things listed in this video, how do you even enjoy it? All these things are what made the movie. Poor generation! I'm not trying to be demeaning or condensending here, just had a realization. :(
Thanks for uploading! Greetings from Sweden

i'm glad i watched this at home because I SCREAMED when i saw peaches & cream barbie and super-long-hair barbie, both of which i had as a kid (i had 2 SLH barbies and i cut the hair on one because i wanted to cut my own long hair short and was trying to make my case to my mom. it didn't end well. i had a pregnant midge too, but considering i had like 9 barbies and only one ken, that baby got passed around A LOT.

I think it also makes a statement of modern dating. how when Kens in love with Barbie and she overlooks it with party life, she then has a night out with the girls and says Hi Ken, Hi Ken, Hi Ken to all the different Kens like no one's important. they are just replaceable. then when during the fire pit the girls strategise to mess with their emotions to win the war

Inclusive casting? I don't really see the cast as inclusive. It just is what it is because it represents the exact same dolls I played with from 1983-1989. I'm 43 years old now and my real-life friend group looks just like the barbie movie cast as well. I don't get the obsession with inclusivity. Who's not included in the things they'd like to be included in.

Alas, I was a delightful owner of first version Allen (Alan) then the first version Skipper then the first bendable Skipperwho my sisters showed me how to hold her legs below the knees and flip her back and forth. She became a double amputee. My older sisters had the original Barbies. I also had a Tutti doll!

I am typically an action movie person, and I hate pink. BUT, I was intrigued by the previews. When my 92 year old great aunt wanted to go, we went. I cannot express how much I love this movie! I saw it twice that first weekend and bought it as soon as it came out on Amazon. It will be a permanent go-to!

I was in the 1979 film Being There that was referenced by the Barbie movie when Ken enters Century City. The reference, or character parallels, is Chauncy Gardner (Peter Sellers) leaving his home for the first time in his life and discovering the real world vs its televised proximity.

Joke is on you America. Everyone thought this was going to be a bougie, Barbie-escapist, bury- your- head- in- the- sand fluff piece but haha you didn't get it because you know nothing about anything! Turns out this was the first time you looked in the mirror and saw the REAL you.

Near the end of the movie when Ken talks about the tiny fridge which stocks only a six pack and the freezer which is basically useless. I had one in college and yes the cube was tiny and the only thing you could put in the freezer was a tiny ice cube tray. Yeah, useless.

Every sentence in this video starts with kids today probably don't know XYZ. I don't have kids, but. they have cellphones with wifi at 6. They go to school. And, they, you know, live in the world? I'm pretty sure kids today know what feminism and diversity is.

I'm aware that it's in a joking manner but it feels very weird when you say that children don't pick up on these things when as a child I definitely did. I mean I technically am still a child only being 13 so it just feels strange and weirdly patronising.

It was made for adults. At 62 I found it brilliant and very funny (Every joke and entendre) and perfectly done. I was so surprised, in a good way. Saw it twice and wouldn't turn it down if someone in my household wants to watch it with me.

I loved the beach off references and when the executive had on a sling after being shot with a plastic suction arrow. In fact, I adored all executive moments! Adorable and hilarious. It reminded me of the man flu. Poor babies.

Hmm, I couldn't be bothered to see this in the theaters because I never owned or wanted a Barbie. However between this and some other interesting reviews and commentary I just might watch it streaming at some point.

Did not see movie but did see a clip where she wears a pink checkered dress similar to Dorothy's from wizard of Oz while driving down a pink brick road and a building that said wizard of oz.

Growing up in the 1960's I LOVED this movie! You bet those references were for adults- we roared thru them. I thought Ryan did a super job of Ken, Margot as Barbie and Ariana as pouty Sasha!

While there nothing in this movie that would prevents kids from seeing it, I don't think kids were it target demographics. So the Jokes land perfectly for who they were intended for.

ahh. MORE toxic femininity laced with inclusivity and diversity! Lovely. Tell me you're progressively liberal without telling me you're progressively liberal. TYPICAL HollyWEIRDs.

So when a guy does a deep dive on a movie he likes, it's man-splaining (5: 35, but when Ms. Mojo does the same she's completely oblivious to her own hypocrisy.

the concepts of feminism and the patriarchy aren't exactly taught in schools - what? Yes they are. Is that banned in American schools or something?
