These movies were so good we went back for more. For this list, well be looking at films that audiences flocked to theaters to see two, three, or maybe more times, either because they have a natural multiple-viewing fanbase, lengthy release time and/or successful re-releases. Our countdown includes Barbie, Titanic, Inception, and more! What movie did YOU go back to the theater to see? Sound off in the comments!

The only problem i have with this list is that Star Wars should have been #2. Rocky Horror i will concede as the most viewed, however when Star Wars was released I remember the massive lineups that stretched around the block to go see it. Not only that, but it was the first movie that was released in multiple cinemas in the same city. Only one movie on the Marquis outside: Star Wars 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and sometimes 11pm. No other movie that i know of has ever had that kind of release. And this was all before any 'social media' and any type of streaming. Heck it was even before VHS.

For me it was the movie Casper.
I took my lady on our first date to see the movie Casper with Christina Ricci and Bill Pullman the first Saturday after it hit the theater in her neighborhood.
She loved it so much that, the following Saturday she asked if I'd mind seeing it again.
I agreed and we saw it again.
And again.
And again.
And she still loves the song from the movie, Remember Me This Way, written by Will Jennings and composed by James Horner (same guys that did the Titanic song.
I've danced with her many times to that song.

As a younger man with no social life, due to my autism, I frequently saw favorite movies more than once. This was a lot easier to do in the era of value cinemas. I still feel, as I did then, that watching a favorite movie from an ad-free movie service on a large-screen plasma TV is no substitute for going to the theater.
However, these showings were usually stretched out over several weeks. The one movie that impressed me so much that I saw it twice more that same week is Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Apart from Maverick and Titanic, only woke films.
Woke Mojo.
Everything, Everywhere All at once was terrible. I started watching it on streaming and I couldn't finish it. It's some sort of collage of bad 80's goofy comedy movies, wrapped in CGI, and that's it. Pretentious confusion, that gained people's mind because of the ignorance and the fear of saying what they really think, because they fear the criticism of the pseudo intellectuals.

Surprised E. T. didn't make the list. The summer that came out, was insane at the theatres. The original Die Hard as well. Despite many claiming it to be, IT IS NOT A CHRISTMAS MOVIE (hey, even Bruce said so, however, has become a Christmas classic.
My fave will always be Alien/Aliens. Have watched those over and over, I can say without boasting, I'm into the 100's of times of rewatching them.

I saw Spider-Man No Way Home and Puss in Boots The Last Wish four times in theaters! I thought the record would not be broken but it was with Gran Turismo! I ended up seeing that film FIVE times in the theater! I think because of how personally relatable the story is for me, thats why I kept coming back to it whenever I could. Will most definitely pick up the Blu-Ray!

Million Dollar Baby should have been mentioned for this list. Its theatrical run lasted 6. 5 months, which is rare for any movie, resulting in a box office gross of $216 million against its $30 million budget. I saw it in the theaters twice. Its icing on the cake is it won 4 Oscars for Best picture, best director, best actress and best supporting actor.

Star Wars will never be beaten for the best. Watching it in theaters was an absolutely breathtaking experience. Watching the Star Destroyer fly onto the screen as well as feeling the vibrations from the roar of the engines was something we had never seen before. If you got to watch it in theaters, youll know what Im talking about.

And the sound of music. I only had to watch that movie bc of school. Not bc I actually ever wanted to. I think I only knew Julie andrews full name bc of the princess diaries. And never knew her name not even when I first watched Mary poppins which I did like as a kid. Never watched the new version though.

my best friend and i saw stick it in theaters at least half a dozen times. probably the only movie i've actually watched multiple times in a theater vs at home. my favorite at-home repeat viewings are monty python & the holy grail, twister, and the day after tomorrow.

I found Casablanca on Blu-ray recently and watched it on my new 75inch tv. I wasn't expecting much for an 80 year old movie, even on BR. But it was magical. Nearly every scene is a glamour shot that could be printed and framed. And the ending still touches.

RHPS is such a great teenage memory - nothing about Rocky Horror wouldn't push your parents buttons LOL. Tequila and mountain dew, dragging main, and Movies that made made your parents weep. The memories we cling to at the other end of life

People don't realize that Gone with the Wind has sold more theater tickets than any other movie in history if it came out with today's prices it would have made over 3 billion dollars today that's pretty strong right there

DAMN 3 AND A HALF HOURS! I have never planned to see that movie bc Im not much into old movies from way back then. But u can bet I for sure I will never plan to watch a movie for 3 and a half hours. Let alone a racist one.

Raiders of the Lost Ark or Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs shouldve gotten an honorable mention, especially the latter since it was one of the highest grossing films adjusted for inflation and was a cinema innovator.
reply

How is Grease not on this list? People went to see that movie several times. Much of the box office was repeat viewings. I thought it was going to be number one on this list.
reply

Back in my day it was Saturday Night Fever and I was the only one with a car. I got to see it 3 times. The theater was in Springfield and we were in college in Bolivar.

I saw The Lord if the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring 27 times in the theater, mostly b/c matinees were $5 and I worked part-time. But still, 27 times. Just sayin'

Great choices, definitely Rocky Horror is up there and I still watch it occasionally, then as a Sci Fii fan, all the Star Wars movies and just loved both Avatar movies
reply

I've seen Titanic seven times on the big screen!
And I have seen all the other films, including the honorable mentions, more than once, in theaters or otherwise.

reply

lol Mimi of OH MY GIRL actually watched Avatar 4 times but still managed to get a question wrong, hence why one of her fan nicknames is Toruk Makto
reply

Me personally, I went back to the theater to watch The Batman. I also wanted to go back to see A Haunting in Venice again, but that didn't happen.
reply

I don't know or see why people wanted to watch Titanic over and over. I got bored, lost interest in it, and turned it off after the first hour
reply

As for Barbie, I can't help but notice every male character is a desperate villain. except for one, Alan and there's no multiple of Alan
reply

There's some movies you missed. Ferris beulers day off, pretty woman, the never ending story, princess Bride, dirty dancing of course.
reply

I was looking for Avengers Endgame or even infinity war. I went back three times for both. It had the best theater experience reactions.
