The difference between a two voice actors I feel is a matter of communication between them and the director of the voice lines. The differences are the expression of emotions and the context of the situation which probably wasn't as apparent when dinklage was doing his recordings.
I feel like dinklage would do a lot better with another type of character, like another guardian or a politician type character, with the right writing and voice direction of course. He didn't do a bad job, he just didn't quite fit the atmosphere in situation, which I don't feel is his fault.
I definitely would love to hear him have another go at it with a different character, And honestly I do miss dinklebot.

I miss when it was Dinklage's voice. Nothing against Nolan North. He's a fantastic voice actor, but in the role of Ghost, I find him, and therefore the character, difficult to take seriously, therefore dialogue from Ghost that's supposed to be funny just isn't to me. Peter Dinklage on the other hand, I found his performance I could take Ghost more seriously, and when there is some humorous dialogue, I feel it's more effective, because it's unexpectedly funny.
Nolan North is noticeably more expressive, but something about Peter Dinklage's voice just fits better in my opinion.

I was surprised. I love Peter Dinklage. I was pissed when he was replaced. Looking at the lines side by side, though, I like Nolan better 90% of the time. I think Peter-s was less emotive on purpose and it was simply boring - probably like a ghost would actually be. But that-s not entertaining. Only time his persona works much better is when things are ominous. Not like -enemies are coming- ominous, but like, -the world is about to be swallowed, - kind of ominous.
I love how Nolan gave Ghost this little guy with a heart filled with unjustified bravery personality.

Good lord Dinkle is just soulless. Nolan does a much better job as the Ghost. For example -No no no, it's the Vex- and -I'm a ghost actually- are both far more emotive and alive with Nolan than Dinkle.
It's crazy to me that people prefer Dinkle over Nolan. But, then again there are people who think The Flash is good and Ezra did nothing wrong so.

Nolan's def has a more robotic processing on his voice, with some formant shifting and tuning, but he then makes up for it with a very energetic and emotive delivery. Peter's is a robotic delivery for lines that are clearly emotive, and they've done almost nothing to his voice to make it sound like it is being processed by a machine.

Not sure if this is true, but it seems like Bungie have adapted Ghost's lines to fit Nolan's tone and character better, especially after Witch Queen. I think that's why everyone remembers Peter's Ghost so fondly - that Ghost matched the vibe of D1 really well. Honestly, I'm not sure I could imagine him in D2. Just a thought.

My personal opinion is that Dinklage just read the lines in a serious tone and it works really well at times but he gave the character no range. We know Dinklage is capable of great acting, he just didn-t translate well to voice acting and that-s honestly mostly the director that is at fault

I feel like peter's voice just makes things more intense at times, and ominous because of his tone.
But nolan IS more expressive for sure. A lot of line deliveries are just better, but I still prefer dinklage's tone.
If dinklebot expressed his lines like nolan did it wouls be perfect.

With this whole AI stuff going on we should be able to choose who-s voice we want to hear as ghost. Personally peters voice fit the game a lot better and game it a certain feel I don-t get from it with Nolan-s voice. It just sounds like there are no stakes I like the more serious and deeper tone

I cant tell if it was because i played destiny 1 so much before the conversion, but it really feels like i memorise both equally - ive grown to love nolan norths ghost, as its gotten more expressive over the years, but i remember dinklages voice so prominantly,

I just started playing destiny 2, so this is the first time I-ve heard Peter Dinklage-s ghost. Personally I love both of them. Honestly I could see them just being for different guardians! It-s really cool hearing how differently they performed their lines! :)

Maybe it's because of the way I see my Ghost and Guardian but I do prefer Nolan over Peter. The way his voice sounds more anxious and worried really screams Ghost for me
Though I will admit, there are some lines where Peter really shined

I think both are great and the player deserves to pick. I also think voiceover packs are the mtx that bungie sleeps on. Imagine these lines by your favorite comedian or personality doing these lines. Like bill burr or Margo Robbie, as an example

I like dinklebot more cause he made the game feel more. serious? Dark? I feel like that's why I liked it so much. He portrayed a more serious feeling to the game rather than a more comical or lighthearted feel. Both do a great job, however.

The 2nd one sounds annoying n winy n the 1st one sounds epic and serious for this game. I haven't jumped on destiny for 7 years so when I finally jumped back on it n heard this voice actor. it made me almost want to turn off the game

Nolan suits it more because I think he is supposed to sound humorous and optimistic at times and Peter sounds cool but I don't think that sounds good for the ghost. I think Peter is to deeply voiced, he sounds less like a companion AI.

Peter made the situations feel scarier with his deeper voice conveying a greater sense of urgency and danger. Whereas Noland makes what should be such moments sound more like an inconvenience. It takes me right out of the immersion.

I've never played this game but heard about this controversy. Peter Dinklage does have a more monotone performance but I feel that fits a robot better. I see Nolan North as Deadpool though he's done a ton of animated voices I know.

I love Dinklebot and hate Nolanbot. Dinklebot sounded iconic and far more pleasing to my ears and made the game more atmospheric. Nolan makes it worse in every way, worse delivery, worse ear candy, worse atmosphere.

I don-t know if it-d ever be possible but I kinda wish that in d2 you could get voice packs for your ghost.
Like how there-s announcer packs in Halo 5 or a bunch of the COD games. It would be kinda cool imo.

Here-s the thing. I started playing this game yesterday. Today, I found out that I can-t play TONS of contents of old days. Including campaigns like the Red War. Now, I-m realizing that Dinklebot was a thing. WHAT?

Having listened to this, I like Dinkidge here, however, North is far more passionate in my mind's ear. Dinklidge stays fairly emotionless during his preformance, whereas North's ghost feels far more -alive-

Yeah I think Nolan north is much better, it actually sounds like what you would think the ghost would sound like, it has way more of an AI/computer type of voice, Peter sounds way more human like

As someone who's only just started destiny I can't imagine any other voice for the ghost than nolan norths. Listening to Peter's iteration just feels weird for me. Not bad just feels weird.

I like Nolan North as much as the next guy, but he sounds too much like Tim Dabado (Guilty spark) whereas Dinklebot has this aged feeling to his reading. Like he's been down the block before

Dinklage voice suited the darker tone of the game, Nolan sounds like a squeaker and is kind of annoying. His voice doesn't really suit the games tone of you being in danger.
