Honestly a really cool way to bring out the hq v pl fight would be to have Harley kinda try to -save- punchline from joker, just for punchline to strike back and it'd be a good reason for punchline to give some insight on why she became joker's partner

Punchline could be Joker's blood daughter. by who is another story but that's a theory. In the batman universe with a lot of retconning and alternative universes, I wouldn't put it past them. You wanted crazy and bob's your uncle.
