This commentator knows absolutely jack about the original eternal's. The earth eternals are such because of a botched experiment by one of their scientist who was studying the essence of life and the containment pod exploded. This irradiated all the eternals, making them eternal/not aging. The eternals of Titan were not irradiated as they had left earth before this due to a difference of opinion between the two brothers who were the co-leaders of the group. Also, the eternals of earth are sterile due to the irradiation.

Good point on the similarities between New Gods and Eternals. Kirby got frustrated with Marvel; he wasn-t getting enough credit for his work there, and he wasn-t getting paid what he was worth, AND he had limited creative control and no ownership of his work.
He wanted to try something new. Marvel said no, DC said yes.
The creativity of the man could not be quenched. :)

Thanks for doing this video. I like the characters (Especially Sersi, who I remember from her Avengers days, but didn-t know all of this. Is it true that they were never meant to be a regular part of the 616 Marvel Universe? I read that Kirby did not want them to be part of the regular MU (The sake was true of The New Gods.

also this commentator gives the impression that the earth is the only race that the celestials have done this too. The kree and the skrull were also the subject of the celstials, the difference being that in their cases one group killed off all the others. Only on earth do all 3 races still exist.

Not sure if anyone else made this comment. but there-s a slight correction needed, Amanda McKnight. when you mention The Eternals limited run by Peter Gillis and Sam Buscema (5: 11. should be noted the artist/penciler is actually -Sal Buscema-. not -Sam Buscema. - Just FYI.

Deviants are not villainous although many of their leaders tend to be arseholes like any other government. But their was a truce and some deviants lived among the Eternals. Deviants are actually pretty kewl

I remember skipping school on a Monday in the 7th grade just to go to a National Record store in Downtown Pittsburgh to get the 1st edition. Ikaris has always been one of my favorite characters.
