Jeph Loeb destroyed the Ultimate Universe. While there was some attempt to salvage it, there were still some cool stories and we got Miles, the downtrend started from them.
Mark Millar tried too hard to be too edgy and made all the Ultimates into parodies (Tony's always drunk, Hulk is horny and eats people, Cap is an old fogey, etc) that I only cared about the plot and not the characterization.

I can never forgive Loeb and the top brass at Marvel for killing off the Ultimate Universe. I was my favourite Marvel storyline, I own every single Ultimate Universe book. You also have to remember that a lot of the MCU took inspiration from there rather than the main Marvel Universe. I know it still exists out there but I doubt Marvel will ever bring it back

I loved Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men, Ultimate Fantastic Four. At least, in the beginning. After a while, things just got more and more depressing. Ultimatum seemed to me, a way for the writers to say.
Let's make things edgy and gritty by killing everyone! That'll be a good way to increase sales!

Ultimate Magneto is NOT a Holocaust survivor. He alludes to his family being the victims of the Holocaust, but his family is shown in Ultimate Origins being involved with mutant experiments. Magneto also killed his parents in the Ultimate Universe.

The only reasons that Universes like Ultimate or 2099 Were made was Spider-Man! Even the first comic & Best comic of each of earths are for Those Spider-Men & Other things like ultimate really didn't paid enough attention

I m one who read all UM but barely read 616, 616 is too comick-y, every year or few months a earth destroying event comes up, absurd stuff like all ny having spider powers and much more. Meanwhile UM was more grounded, and looks like they didnt liked it
