To come back to the eyes from another point: I recently learned that some right-handed people cannot help but feel uncomfortable when they see left-handed people write or handle a tool or whatnot (lots of lefties around me lately, so it came up. I think it is something about how the brain parses body-images on a subconscious level and tries to relate itself to persons it sees and then something just does not make sense.
Maybe it is something similar with Alita's eyes, in which case some cannot get used to them, so they cannot help but feel uncomfortable, so they deem them creepy.
Basically, I think -creepy valley- has rather subjective boundaries, some of which cannot be altered. Or not easily altered.

Her eyes are beautiful and adorable. Personally, I think our tiny eyes look weird. Alita is a cyborg from Mars, she's URM and she's not the only one with larger eyes. Those eyes have 500x better eyesight than a normal human eye. I think URM soldiers were given larger eyes, designed for enhanced combat and an advantage over their enemies because their large eyes give them superior sight.
Also, Alita is NOT a robot or an android. She's a cyborg. A cyborg is human, they just have machine parts. Alita's brain is very human. There's a massive difference between a cyborg and a robot. Even says this in the Alita trailer; she's got a very human brain. She's not a -not a very human character- she is literally human.

Her eyes are beautiful. I've seen photos where people have given her -normal- eyes and it looks freaking horrifically gross. Sorry, but normal eyes DO NOT suit Alita. She is a cyborg originally from URM, and if nobody else has noticed by now, all the other URM cyborgs had large eyes too. I think the large eyes are a brand of URM which is why no other cyborg in the present day had large eyes. Alita is gorgeous as is, and quite frankly, looks freaking horrible with normal eyes. Her eyes are literally no different than the eyes in Avatar. They are not creepy as hell. Like, at all. What is wrong with people.

I must admit, some of the changes from the manga to the movie were probably for the better.
Alita being named after Ido's daughter instead of his cat is a little more realistic, considering the body she controls/lives in, and the fact that Alita finds the Berserker body instead of Ido.
Ido in the Manga finds the berserker body long before he meets Alita. While it doesn't make a ton of sense for Alita to find the body, as her friends direct her towards an URM ship, despite supposedly not knowing she's URM or anything of that nature, but it makes more sense than Ido just having the body somehow.

Actually, Alita isn't the only one with large eyes. In her flash back scenes, her mentor (and likely the other students) all had the same size eyes. My interpretation of this is that all the Mars' berserker combatants all had this feature.

I think very few people find Alita's eyes creepy, the general consensus is that she's adorable, eyes and all. Alita really is one of the most charming characters I can recall, her personality and her appearance make it easy to root for her.

Alita Battle Angel is one of the best Films ever and I m very happy that rosa Salazar got the role because she really looks like Alita and the Eyes of Alita aren't creepy they just show that she is a cybork and no human

Since the whole comment section is about alita's eyes, time to do my part: her overly big eyes are from one of the variants of alita the manga. For shits and gigs the producers made the movie via prototype models

Whats wrong with her eyes? I think they are gorgeous! And she wasnt named after a deceased cat. she was named after the Docs deceased daughter because the body she was given was supposed to be for his daughter
reply

What? Oh I missed the eye controversy. Personally I love them and never had a problem with them. I think they do a great job of conveying expression and strangely humanizing a not entirely human character.
