I know there's one episode of Charlie & Lola 'A British pre-school show from the books' that they had a pet mice called Nibbles and he died and to honour his death they buried him in a box and decorate the box, Sometimes for the most part preschool shows don't handle the matter of death, One I know from Sesame Street that was written out was Mr Hooper since his actor Will Lee sadly passed away in late 1982 from a heart attack and Big Bird has no clue on the concept of death, And they try to explain how that works.

Why isn’t Bluey on the list It had an episode called Copycat, where bluey and her dad’s game was interrupted by the sight of an injured bird. They take it to the vet, but it’s ultimately too late. Bluey is of course devastated at the bird’s death. At home, she tries reenacting the event in a playful game of pretend. That one’s such a good episode

i remember Gargoyles. the city of stone arc, when the Magus died on Avalon, he wanted to sleep, the ep with Anubis.
there was a cartoon from the early 90's called Skeleton warriors. there is the ep Long Live the King you find out just how evil the main villain is. i remember it being dark.

I would like to give a shoutout to the lion guard and spirit riding academy. Rani’s grandma passed from old age as did Lucky’s grandpa. They both dealt with the passing of characters we got to know in the series and both handled them with much care and respect for their target audience.

I absolutely bawled in the episode of Bluey where they find an injured bird that dies when they take it to the vet. The episode ends with Bluey recreating what happened through playing with her sister & mum. It’s a really beautiful example of how kids process things like death.

HmmI feel like Aang’s grief for his entire culture, Katara’s grief for her mother, or Iroh’s grief for his son would have made more sense.
Also, Steven Universe dealt with death and grief for likethe entire show. Genuinely surprised its not here. Adventure Time as well.

Oddly enough, the two times i can remember cartoons touching with this was in 2 SERIES FINALES AND BOTH BY CARTOON NETWORK. Love both of these shows and the scenes were symbolic. The 2 shwos in question being Adventure Time and Regular Show

Why did you not mention Fat Albert and Gang War. Where Fernando died by a bullet meant for his brother Tito. That he jumped in to save Tito from dying as a result of a gang battle that helped to cause. By not listening to reason.
