I’m going to focus on the tentpole movies of this group in particular. You can make sequels to good movies that sell because you already have the formula. I don’t know if it is lightning in a bottle, but from the outside looking in some of the decisions made for these movies is just astounding. It is as if they wanted to do something so different that they pleased no one. For instance for Indiana jones have an uplifting adventure movie focused on Indiana jones with an interesting story, not the sad depressing kill your heroes type movie that they came out with. How about Joker 2. I have a feeling that director hated making this movie because it was an absolute mess. What were the producers doing to rein him in It would have been better to not make the movie than what they came out with. Just give the people more of what they want and if you want to go a different direction create a spin off or something wholly different, just don’t spend all your money to make megalopolis. Just my 2 cents.

Hollywood is going to have to make a choice. They can either A. Keep aligning with the Woke Left, or B. Reverse course and make good and funny movies again. There aren’t many options. The problem is, if you say, want to make comedy, you can’t do comedy easily without offending someone. Jerry Seinfeld gets the closest I’ve seen but he’s pretty clever. But 99-percent of even comedy writers don’t have the toolkit to pull it off. Anthony Jeselnik is hilarious but he offends the Devil. Heck, Satan boycotts Anthony’s shows. But I tried to watch Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse in May of 2025 and I gave up after 20 minutes. It’s a mess. The dialog has no punch and Winona Ryder is downright finished she’s so awful. But make your choice Hollywood. As the guy from Waterboy might say, You can do eet!

I am NOT into comic book movies. They’re generally so useless it’s not even worth criticizing them. But I actually laughed a lot during Madame Web. Dakota Johnson was literally rolling her eyes while doing her dialog as I think SHE thought it was corny. But the movie is quite ludicrous and in an odd way it works. I mean, I don’t know if it’s a comedy but I was laughing most of the time at its total chaos. But I don’t know if it’s supposed to be deconstructing the genre or simply crazy.

Not just because of the star of the movie, but because despite all the criticism and the things said about the movie, it got to live but Batgirl instead died was the one that died. I will never get over that they had a nearly completed movie and deleted everything for it! I wanted to see Firefly so badly

A film doubling its production costs/budget doesn't mean it breaks even or gains profit. Studios don't take in 100% as they always leave out cinema takings, marketing, promotions online and other forms of media etc etc. So, if Snow White's touted budget is estimated between $210m-$270m, then Disney definitely spent over $320m as a whole.

Shame The Flash bombed. its superhero/Back To The Future mix was pretty good, and along with the alternative Batman/SuperGirlstellar special effects. it was enjoyable and I generally hate the superhero genre. At this writing, it is on Tubi and worth checking out.

When the first Phoenix Joker movie came out, I was pretty vocal about it not being anything but a mental health movie that someone crammed a Joker storyline into just to try and earn a buck. The second movie proved me correct. It was no surprise it bombed.

Dial of Destiny was hardly a masterpiece but A) it did have a GREAT other-world ending and B) it had the strongest anti-Nazi message of the whole franchise (not that Raiders of the Lost Arc and Last Crusade were soft of the 3rd Reich!

I feel Cats could've done better if it was just pure animated or people just wearing a cgi tail and practical effects ears and not an ugly bodysuit. Also they ruined a few songs by changing the key

I thought Morbius, Ghostbusters 2016, Ant Man & the Wasp: Quatumania, The Marvels, The Predator (2018, Shazam: Fury of the Gods, and Black Widow would be on this list. Maybe, the next list.

I know the songs from the Honest Trailer of Cats much better than those actually on the Film. Incredibly the Honest Trailer seems to even sound better, by these little clips.

I will say, Madame Web is actually hilarious. I love that movie. I laughed so much. Granted, I wasn’t meant to laugh so much, but it’s a blast in all the wrong ways

I loved the first Joker (some of my friends didn't because of No Batman ) but I refused to watch the 2nd because I don't like musicals very much.
