I started gymnastics when I was 7. I remember looking into the gym mirror while I was supposed to be practicing floor routines and thinking I was so fat, when in actually I was super duper tiny (in the way that a lot of 7 year olds are. I would wish that my stomach would become flatter and that my legs would be longer and thinner. I was super active, I went to day camps and then I went to gymnastics in addition to going to the public pool several times a week, and I remember being super hungry afterwards but looking at the calories snack boxes and severely limiting what I could eat for fear of gaining weight. I would look at the serving size and would never allow myself to have more than one serving. literally counting out how many goldfish I could have or whatever. At freaking7 In high school, I finally got boobs and decided that I HATED them. I am a D-DD cup (but 5'2) and would always be told that that was ideal, but I'd look at actors and department store models and NEVER see my body type represented. I have an ex-boyfriend who would tell me that I needed to get a breast reduction and do intense work outs every day in order to be desirable (for him or anyone else. I'm 20 years old and in college now, but I'm really working on focusing on what my body can DO, as opposed to the way that it look, because in the grand scheme of things, I'm really lucky to be healthy and able-bodied. I think it is difficult to balance body positivity while also trying to remain active and eat as healthfully as I can, but I'm glad to know that this is a battle that everyone has to fight for their own self-actualization and self-love. We can do it

Mitra MarchukPEOPLE NEED TO STOP JUDGING OTHER PEOPLEThere are people who will literally find anything to make fun of or tease other people. This leads to everyone being self conscious about their body. -If you think you weigh too little, you dont, youre perfect. - if you think you weight too much, you dont. Youre perfect. - if you think youre too tall, youre not, youre perfect- if you think youre too short, youre not. Youre perfect. - if you think you dont have a good body, you do. You are perfect. The reason Im saying this is because its true. Society says if you are not too fat and not too skinny, and if you have curves, and a butt, than you have a perfect body. ITS NOT TRUE. there is no perfect body because they are all perfect. If anyone tells you different just say its my body, not yours, so why tf do you care what MY body looks like. Omg this took me so long to write so thank you for taking your time reading this.

4: 19 this is so great to hear and I hope this girl never changes her mind. Im in a district where its a pretty diverse area, but we live near a bad community and a lot of the girls that have my own skin color are all more outgoing then I am, and Im not with it. I tend to hang out with the typically light skinned girls, and it always makes me uncomfortable in my own skin. I feel like people think bad about me because I dont have many friends with my own skin color (Im mixed, but dark for the most part) and it makes me feel bad. It honestly makes me sad that I cant even feel comfortable around my friends because of peoples opinions and body shaming. I know I cant change my skin color and wouldnt if I could, but I just find it sad that this is what Ive been conditioned to think.

people are always looking for someone that loves them for who they are, but you have to love yourself for who you are first. Hello my name is Emma, and this is my little self love story: i used to feel insecure about my body, and my face, and everything when i started the eight grade. and i wished that i could feel the same things i felt about me in seventh grade, there i felt so confident. but now, almost entering ninth grade, i feel a lot better. you just have to say, well this is my body, this is my face, and there is no one like me. and there is no need to feel insecure, because it's yours, not theirs, and you should love you, and think of you living yourself. don't worry about others loving you.

If you are too skinny If you are too fatIf you are not smartIf you are too shortIf you are too tallIf you are too ugly If you are too niceIf you are too shyThen what is perfect? Because whoever you are there is always something you would want to change, but in reality you are beautiful because you are authentic you are unique and there is only one of you in the entire existence of anything, so embrace it because you are always gonna be too something no matter what you do Being Beautiful isnt being perfect, being beautiful is being you. It makes me so sad that no madder what I do I will feel too something What do you guys feel too something? And think of it positively. Trust me it really helps
