I remember when I was 10 or whatever our dance teacher was SUPER strict about buns in rehearsal and in shows. We had to know everything about makeup. We had to look PURE WHITE. And if our bun had flyaways he would scream at you. It was always super scary when doing rehearsal because you are also with teenagers and its very embarrassing when you can't do something they can. I don't know why they put young ages with higher ages, but my feet are messed up from the pointe shoes pushing on my big toe so my bone is at an anglenow. yayyy. I stopped now because of they really expect you to be PERFECT and my parents didn't want us to be always thinking we were ugly or not perfect and that we had to be perfect. And because my sister and I didn't want to do that anymore. Plus, there was this creepy teacher who likes 19 or older and he just had this vibe about him. But I guess it was fun during the shows.

Great video - Scout is so inspiring Would love to see an ABT performance in NY one day. Did she mention when she showers? I would want to shower right right after the end of the performance but it sounds like she removes her make up and is out of there in seven minutes. Actually, Im not a fan of sweatiness so Id want to shower eight times a day if I were on her schedule. after yoga, after class, after rehearsal, after the performance. OK, thats four times but even so And a week without shampooing with all that gunk in her hair? I get why and totally respect her routine but I think Im way too fussy for a ballerinas beauty routine (and way too lazy and undisciplined for a career as a ballerina, Ill readily admit)

No one should look that beautiful straight from sleep at 6: 30 am, no makeup, bed head. Oh, and be an incredibly talented ballet dancer, as icing on the cake. And be nice, and funny, too. She has a yoga class done (and I doubt it's Beginner 101) before most people have had their first coffee. Then off to a 10- hour day of class, rehearsal and performance. Scout, you and your ilk are forces of nature

i really wanna be a dancer and im like 11 and a lot of dancers they start at like a very young age and im just thinking WELL I MISSED MY CHANCE i am also no where near like flexible i cant do the splits um or like touch fully to my toes so um yeah lol but i know i just have to work hard and probably train? Idk LOL

i miss ballet. i started at 4 but stopped at 12 because i had financial issues and could not afford ballet classes. was in quite a big company from where i live hence im still sad till today that i am unable to continue on and actually pursue ballet as a profession. would love to perform as a ballerina once again at least

All I know about the ballet is gleaned from YouTube so I am pretty sure that a girl beginning ballet class at 11 then successfully making it into a dance company by 18 is insane She must be so focused and talented. Yet so unpretentious. A very beautiful soul. I thoroughly enjoyed this video.

I've always wanted to do figure skating but as I live nowhere near a skating rink my second choice is ballet I'm eleven now and I keep begging my parents to let me go to classes before it is too late but seeing as you started when you where eleven I guess I still have an opportunity

my mom signed me up for ballet classes when i was about 6 i believe but i didnt get to go because no one was able to take me to the classes, im 18 now and i still wonder what my life wouldve been like if I did take those classes. I want to take them but i feel like its too late.

You need to curl your lash AFTER you put on your fake lashes and mascara so it helps it bind more and it doesnt fall off. My handler does that when he does my pagent make up you change you clothes pretty fast and your make up needs to stay in place the whole time

I always get sad when watching ballerinas. I've wanted to be one since I was 5 years old, I'm 19 and know /nothing/ about ballet and never got to take classes. I'd never be able to become a pro if I started now, so I kinda just gave up.
