I hope you guys find these tips and tricks useful cordeliaistheone: Okay I'm reporting back: my hair's been dry and 'blah' for months even with hair masks, conditioners and having cold water on my hair at the end of my shower, then I tried these tips ONCE (brush BEFORE shower - which is luke warm - shampoo just the roots + massage, use smaller towel and keep hair in it longer to dry - and it dries quicker too as less fabric easier absorbed) and my hair legitimately felt so much better and a lot lighter and healthier? Washed my hair again yesterday (waited 2 days instead of every other day as usual) and my hair feels and looks even better My natural volume and waves are now. active? (lol idk how to phrase that) where my hair was more weighed down before. So. this sounds like an infomercial lol and I did put a heck-tonne of coconut oil on my hair before that first time, but I've done that before and it's not had much of an effect, and with your tips I feel like I'm being so much kinder to my hair and it's really working? I'm genuinely amazed haha, thank you again so so much xx

Kayley my hair is very long and naturally straight, a bit like yours, i always have split ends (mostly in the middle section of my hair, even though my hair is not layered) i never use heat products (apart from a hair dryer every few weeks) and i never brush/towel dry through it when its wet. i use some products like leave in conditioner but my hair still gets breakage, i have it cut every few months but it pretty much always has breakage. (i also use aussie shampoo/conditioner. is there anything i should do to stop it breaking? any products you would recommend? thank you loved the video: )

Great video I've always had thinner hair, but because of lovely (not lol) very harsh hormone treatments for illnesses for many years, i've been noticing so much more fall out. And then I started combing my fingers through my hair to make sure the conditioner got to all of it. Super bad idea for me. I had the worst fall out I had ever seen the last couple of showers. I'm going to do the shampoo and conditioner techniques that you talked about. I've also started to do luke warm or cold showers for my hair. I have noticed a difference in softness and shine.

I actually put conditioner all over my hair because I have a dry scalp. For years I only put it on the ends and I thought I had dandruff because my scalp was always flaking. When I got a new stylist two years ago she diagnosed me with dry scalp, not dandruff. So now I exfoliate my scalp a few times a years and use conditioner on it every time I wash it. She equated it to using moisturizer on your face after you cleanse, once you wash the natural oil off you need to replace it with something. Any thoughts on this?

I think this is the best video on hair that I have seen in a while. You are knowledgeable, without being obnoxious. I will be honest, my favorite hair girl on YouTube is LucyCorsetry. I brush my hair before I get in the shower, and I have a wide tooth comb that I keep in the shower, because I hate having tangles when my hair is wet Because I comb my hair all threw out my shower routine, I don't really have a problem with tangles when I get out. And I have Marida from Brave hair, curly and red That is saying a lot

I don't need to brush through my hair after I'v showered. If I brush it through before I shower and then and only aply the shampoo on the scalp my hair usually stays tangle free. Sometimes I brush my hair supergentlywith my finers when I apply the conditioner. In this way more of the hair gest conditioned. Then after I'v showerd what I like to do is take a hair oil and rub all over my hands and then brush my hair gently with my fingers. I have quite long and tangly hair, but this works great

Some very good tips here One additional tip I would add is whenever you brush through your hair, but most especially when it is wet, start at the ends and slowly work your way up. If you start at the top and pull down, if there are any knots or tangles this might tear your hair and cause breakage and damage, but working from the bottom up ensures you eliminate those tangles as you find them, and by the time you get to the crown of your head, your hair should be smooth all way to the ends.

Helpful for those with high porosity straight hair. However, this does not apply if you have low porosity and/or curly hair. Low porosity has trouble absorbing moisture so always wash with warm water and then apply your moisturizing hair creams, leave-ins, oils etc. And curly hair has to be detangled in the shower or else you end up with a puffy mess when doing it dry. Also avoid shampoos with sulphates and conditioners with dimethicone (silicones) trust me on this one

THANK YOU so much for these tips. For a few years now I've noticed that my hair has been thinning along the top front hairline and no where else(I've got fine hair, so it's more noticeable) I've been wondering why for all this time. I always use a large towel to dry my hair and always twist it into a turban. I think you are right. I think that this is what is causing my hair to thin and break. I'm going to try the t shirt turban method from now on. :)

I'm about to take a shower and wash my hair, so this is so fun to watch I use a tangle teezer and that definitely makes me lose less hair detangling when it's wet than I would with a wide tooth comb. love my tangle teezer I will start detangling before I shower now too I have long healthy hair but one thing that does bug me is the little flyaways. my hair stylist said they may just be baby hairs growing in but I'll see if your tip makes a difference: )
