you can use a clamp iron as a clampless one if you want. It is better because it is multi-functional. If you want to use the clamp you do and If you dont just wrap the over the clamp rather than putting it through the clamp. You other alternative (you can get these cheap at a second hand store and they are totally steril because they get so hot. PROMISE) Is a curling iron with interchangable bearls and/or a removable clamp. Srry if this'sconfusing and long if you want me to clerify message me

That would happen to me also. but my hair is naturally very pliable and also curly/wavy so whenever i would do this it would look exactly like you're describing (crazy shirley temple. What i found that works better for my hair type, if what im looking for it a loose big curl, is to use a really fat curling iron (like 1. 5 inch) and curl up to about 2-3 inches before my roots. (my hair is also naturally voluminous. Spritz a little when done and BOOM Loose curls Hope I helped.

i think it depends on how you want your finished style to look. i have both--the clipless one i use when i want more uneven-looking, natural-looking curls (b/c the barrel tapers, so the curls are all different sizes. the one w/a clip i use for when i want my curls to look more glammed-up. also, unless you learn to curl the way kaylee (sorry if i mispelled i've never seen her name written) does, the clipless one will dry out your ends less b/c you have to wrap the ends around it last.

It can help to pick up the curl, not pin it to your head, but blast it with cool air from a dryer. Ultimately, what helps the curl to hold is cooling quickly and in proper form, so you can really choose how you want the curl to fall. Also try separating and tugging on the curls after they cool. A salt spray could also help. Or, instead of putting hairspray on after you curl, put it on before and skip afterword. Hope this helps: )

Hey, it sounds like your hair takes to heat really well. Same with mine. I think the reason she pins her hair up is because her hair is thinner and doesn't take to curls without that step. You probably need to just curl your hair, spritz some light hair spray in them and let them be. It works for me. Even if you do want to pin them up, maybe just avoid pinning them tightly or for too long. I hope I was of some help: )

it really does make a difference when you pin them up afterwards, trust me I have done so many girls' hair in theatre and i've had easy to curl hair and super hard to curl hair. Pinning them up REALLY makes a difference. But if you watch letsmakeitup's video on curls she explains to you how to curl hair that won't curl (she has the same type of hair)

I love your videos So beautiful and easy to doI'm studying in England this year (I'm french by the way) so I'll probably be doing a more sophisticated hairstyle than usual (meaning, so hairstyle at all ') and those curls are perfect. Whenever I need a hairstyle for any occasion I know where to check Thank you =)

I have one objection: when you spray your hair with hairspray while the sections are PINNED to your head, then the hairspray reaches only the top part of the curls -the one that is exposed: mostly the roots While the length of your hair remains without hairspray because it's rolled Just something to consider.

Yeah me too - I've tried it for about the same amount of times and always got the same result - and the worst part was that it didn't pull down for about eight hours on my hair Ill definitely try everyones suggestions cause I've been trying a few ways to get it to last all day but not have really tight curls: )
