I watched Nikita's video on this and she pulled out one of those plastic battery activator tabs. did you do that? That might be the reason. The tabs are in there so the battery isn't wasted in store or while being shipped before the customer can use the included battery

I just got my pair it was 2 I got the red ones I love them you have to hold the button down to turn them on. When I first got them I thought they were broken they aren't you have to hold the button down. They have so many settings too

I use them for performing and Love them Oh will say don't buy them and whip them on and expect to get them right. you have to practice with them. on the placement and what not. wish he would get another pair and retry

Did you pull the little plastic tab on the power source that physically blocks the batteries from the rest of the circuit? You should be able to find it without opening up the plastic case that holds the batteries.

I bought them as well, apparently you have to hold the button in for a few seconds and then they come on press again to change flash pattern and hold button in for a few seconds to switch off - good luck: )
