OUTSTANDING recipe! Here are my concerns, especially as a 25-year-old certified culinary artist: 1. Garlic on mushrooms is very controversial. I would not have done that, on a PCS at least. I would have definitely done so on a wagyu burger seared med. well if it had a good counter to balance out the garlic flavor, but I wouldn't do it otherwise. Sometimes, simplicity is key! Oh, and definitely use butter to cook the mushrooms, the butter unravels the true flavor of a mushroom. 2. You would pick one or the other: Use avocado oil on the toast OR put some avocado slices on the sandwich. I have cooked cheesesteaks for people and put avocado slices on them and people devoured them whole and came back for more.

I am from Philly. This cheese steak is awesome! It is not Philly Traditional, but the best cheese steak I have ever had in my life was made with chunks of ribeye. so you did right! And i personally hate cheese wiz. i dont know why people like it lol! Just as a side note. visit Philly. It has some cool stuff to see sure. but you seem like me Sam. the reason that I visit places is for the gastronomic adventure! The best sandwich I have ever eaten is found in Philly. at DiNicks in Reading Terminal Market. Reading Terminal alone is worth the trip to Philly. Anyway, keep smashing it! You make great content! By the authority (not) vested in me by Philly I declare this cheese steak AWESOME!

Late view, sorry. Been making my Cheese Steaks pretty similar to this method save the egg ( great call BTW. Hit the shrooms with balsamic, add steak seasoning of choice to rib eye (plus a sprinkle of Lawrys. Now comes my personal blasphemy. whisk and heat some store bought au jus, baste your unfinished sandwich with it, then bun up buddy. Then Philly and Paris have a love child. dunk that bad boy in the au jus. Parisian sandwich of brotherly love. I'm doing the egg version very soon though!

I love this particular episode for the outside the box thinking in this recipe. Traditional is nice, but everyone has different tastes/preferences. Experimenting with proven recipes is what it's all about. So many times I've thought about adding egg and 'shrooms to a cheesesteak, so now that I see how well it turned out, I'm going to give it a whirl soon. (Also, I made the White Castle sliders earlier this week and they were fantastic.

First time I was in Australia I ordered a burger and when asked, said, sure I will have it all the way! And they put an egg on it. Being part Hawaiian and appreciating the wonderful food group we call the loco moco, I tried and enjoyed the all the way Aussie burger, so what the hell, lets do a nice easy egg on a Philly Cheese Steak. Yummm!

Only tourists use cheese whiz dude. Locals usually like american or provolone cheese. I like both. The American gets super gooey, and the provolone makes you feel like an adult while the grease drips down your white tee shirt.

Once you added mayo its a cheesesteak hoogie. cant hate on you Sam. Im from PA and most places around me use pizza dough for their buns. the only thing that I was on the fence about was the cheese. Wiz always go with Wiz

lol, I grew up in Reading PA. 45 mins outside philly. I know your cheesesteak is good. You can call it a cheesesteak without making anyone upset. Cant wait to use your method of chilling the steak and then cutting.

The onions will caramelize and shrink. while the peppers (too many, by the way) will take too long to get tender. I would use pickled sweet peppers to give them a nice kick. like fresno peppers. love them. !
