One of America’s favorite holidays is approaching - Thanksgiving. This holiday is strongly associated with a chic table, which is bursting with all sorts of goodies. Each housewife has her own recipes for Thanksgiving, with which she gladly treats all guests. Let us take a peek at American cuisine today and see what dishes are so appetizingly twisted under the lids and languished in the ovens.

Thanksgiving Traditional American Food
The food most often harvested a few days ago is most often prepared for this holiday. After all, this historic Thanksgiving is dedicated to gratitude to God and nature for the harvest that will help survive the winter.

So on the table most often there is mashed potatoes, green beans, ears of corn, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, pumpkin pie and, of course, the star of the evening - baked turkey. This bird is always served with cranberry sauce. Of course, for any other favorite dishes of the family you can find a place on the festive table.

Today, we will be cooking baked turkey, Brussels sprouts and pumpkin pie.

Baked turkey
Without this dish, a Thanksgiving table is the same as a New Year without a Christmas tree. Despite the fact that on this day, according to statistics, Americans eat about 46 million turkeys, the day before the holiday they may not remain in the store. After all, this bird appears on the table on Thanksgiving with 88% of Americans. In any case, for the next Thanksgiving recipe, we need to start cooking the turkey in advance.

For the recipe, we need:
1 turkey - 1 turkey
Sage - Sage
Rosemary - Rosemary
Thyme - Caraway
Parsley - Parsley
4 tbsp kosher salt - 4 tablespoons of salt (it is written that it is kosher, but any one will do).
1 tbsp black pepper - 1 tablespoon of black pepper
An onion - 1 bow
2 carrots - 2 carrots
2 celery stalks - 2 celery stalks
Garlic - Garlic (head to head)
Half of leek - half leek
A stick of butter - 1 stick of butter (approximately 113 grams)
4-5 slices of pancetta - 4-5 slices of Italian bacon (ordinary bacon is suitable)

Cooking method:
Finely chop the herbs (sage, parsley, cumin, rosemary)
Stir herbs, salt and pepper
Coat the turkey inside and out with the mixture.
Wrap the turkey in a transparent film and put to rest in the refrigerator for 3 days
After 3 days, get the bird and wipe it from the juice
To make a “cap” for the poultry breast from foil (so that the meat does not burn in this place)
Cut all the vegetables (carrots, celery, leeks, onions) and half the garlic
Cut leftover garlic, butter and bacon
Fry the bacon over medium heat until most of the fat has evaporated. Set aside bacon
Fry garlic in the same pan until soft
Stir the garlic with bacon and let them cool.
Carefully place the mixture and pieces of oil between the skin and poultry
Stuff a bird with half a sweep of vegetables
Tie up a turkey
Put the remaining vegetables in a baking dish and put turkey on them
Bake the bird at 500 degrees Fahrenheit (260 ° C) for 30 minutes
Get a turkey and put a foil cap on the bird’s breast
Reduce temperature to 350 degrees (177 ° C) and bake for another 2.5 hours
The finished baked turkey should have a meat temperature of 180 degrees (82 ° C) inside the leg, and 160 degrees (71 ° C) in the thickest part of the breast.
Before serving, cover the bird and let it rest for 30 minutes
