DIY Fairy House - Part 1 of 3 - Making the fairy door and windows Hi this is my new fairy house project. It will have three steps. In the first step I'll show you how I made the faux wood fairy door and windows of the fairy house. I first drew on a piece of paper the contour of my house and on another piece of paper the shapes for the fairy door and windows. I cut the shapes and then I flatten a piece of air dry paper clay (I used Das Modelling Material) and drew and cut the door and windows shapes. I textured the surface of the door using the knife. I painted the fairy door and windows using watercolors. My fairy house is going to look AWESOME!

SOOOOO inspired by your creativity. Love your projects and I can't wait to get started on one with my granddaughter. About how long does it take for the recycled cartons to break down in the hot water? Do you have to keep adding hot water? Does a blender make a smoother material? What's a good thickness to shoot for? How long does it take to dry? Once it drys, can you add water to 'reactivate' the (unfinished) material? How sturdy/durable is this material once dried? You use watercolor. Have you tried modelers ink washes?
