Hi, in this video I show you how I made a fairy door notebook using simple materials like pizza boxes cardboard, eggs carton, hot glue and acrylics. I started by gluing the notebook to a bigger piece of cardboard. Then I reinforced the front cover with a few more pieces of cardboard to give some thickness to the door. I glued multiple pieces of cardboard around the notebook to make the door frame. The next step is texturing the surface of the door and shaping the frame. I used a box cutter for this step. I know you always stress out when you see me using this tool, but don't worry, I'm very careful when using it and you should be too (this is basically carving. The texture will help a lot when making the patina. I made the stones by tearing up some textured egg cartons. I used acrylics for painting the whole thing. Made the door blue and the stones white. I added grey in the cracks to amplify the shadows of the textured surface. That's about it. I love my new sketchbook so much. So if you don't know by now, I have a Facebook group called Creative Mom Club where you can share your creations with almost 30. 000 creative people. So come join my group to share your creations and get inspired. I'll see you there!

can i just say how nice it is to see someone that doesn't have 3 inch long sculpted phony nails and a constant stream of self-promoting yakyakyak! love these videos. the craft is what is supposed to be about. they're quiet, beautifully shot, by a person with more than talent than 10 people, making things that are spectacular. we are so lucky to have her share her art.

I like this so much! I think when I try to make one, I'll use tacky glue instead though. I live in FL and hot glue isn't that durable. Also I'm going to use velcro so the door (notebook) is removable may be easier to write in. Great video! You inspire me: )

All through your video I am saying to myself, the doors the wrong way round not until the end did I realise Im seeing it from upside down, lol. Please do me one favour. Wear a safety glove when hacking at the cardboard. Thanks.

I always look forward to your videos. You are amazingly talented. I tried to make similar projects and they were ok but nowhere near the level you come up with. Thanks for sharing.

It would be super cool to see a full sketchbook like this, with one of the brick sides missing or on a hinge or something to open it fully and look through your old works!

This is such a great idea. Since I can't find a replacement for my Kindle cover, I was thinking about something like this. And now I know for sure I will do it. Thank you!
