I know this video is 4 years old and also I'm not a master of structure. But I can't help but think that the original drawing captures the form much better. And I'm really not talking about gesture, -life-, likeness or realism. Since it's a critique on form, it's a given that these things will not be on par with the original.
Still, Proko's criticism seems far off in this one. He's -simplifying- forms and emphasizing planes that aren't even present in the source.
To me, it doesn't look like the artist was trying to hide lack of structure with unnessecary lines. While there is some random scribble, most of the lines seem to follow the (correct) form.
This video looked more like a guy trying to study a drawing rather than critiquing it.

hrm, wanted to pick up that video from Marshal's page but it only has Paypal. ): I find PayPal a bit too annoying for too many reasons to bother using so I tend not to make purchases if that's the only means of buying something, which sucks because I would have otherwise.
Anyways thanks for the videos you guys have been doing, I have a backlog I have been meaning to watch and trying to get through all them, they're really awesome, thanks!

Are you drawing a rhino or wooden blocks? Because this is not how you draw a rhino, and definitely not how you purposefully subordinate. Blocks would be cool for a cartoon style, but for every style you need different approach - and for realistic, you need to imagine the shapes as smoothly flowing arch- and spline-based surfaces. Blocks are not the objective, therefore they should not waste your time in drawing.

Alright Marshall Vandruff I have bought your perspective videos. They only cost 12 bucks for what is suppose to be 12 lessons amounting to roughly 7 hours on perspective. All things considered this is a fantastic price compared to so many other art videos. I saw a few clips on Youtube I'm sure it will be more than worth my money. Thanks and I hope you're able to create whatever else you want to.

Hi Stan. I love all of your videos. Super funny and enlightening. Thank you for producing them. I find the music super distracting though. I-m trying to focus and listen to what you-re saying but keep being distracted by that background music. Please consider turning off the music so we can just hear yours and Marshall-s critiques.
