The foot is challenging to draw because it-s flexible, asymmetrical, and should usually look like it-s on the ground (perspective. Since the foot is so bony, knowing the inside anatomy directly helps you draw the outside surface. This lesson will focus on the overall design of the foot, along with the form, proportion, and mobility of the individual bones. It should be noted that the shape of the toes is also determined by the type of shoes and footwear that a person has, in the same way how you can tell if a woman wears high-heels by looking at the arch in the back, you can tell footwear by the shape of the toes. In cultures where people don't wear shoes the pinky toe isn't always curled in and the toes are slightly more spread out. However, someone like a ballerina will have toes that appear to be crunched together due to how the shoes squish the toes together.
Or like Chinese foot binding literally crushes the foot into a different shape. Shoes does something similar over many years.
To add to that, a lot of people can have overpronated or underpronated feet, which will change the angles of the ankles when walking or standing which will make it look like the feet are sagging inwards or outwards. The same goes for foot arches which can vary if people are flat-footed which means they have little to no arch (which also can lead to overpronation.

I have wide and stubby feet. I didn-t realize that my feet were so misshapen until someone pointed out that the characters that I draw have weird feet. I-ve only ever used my own feet as a reference so I guess that-s where I went wrong. I think the closest comparison is that of the dwarves from typical fantasy. At least it-s not hobbit feet.

I got his stuff and i ended up going somewhere else to learn stuff. All his stuff his choppy he doesn't show you how to draw something. He just teaches you how to draw what your looking at most of then I nothing on how to draw the feet etc it all cut and dry and you send all this money for the courses. Its a waste!

I usually draw characters with shoes (because the setting needs shoes, I swear it-s not intentional-)
But I can-t draw shoes I don-t know how feet work -
I usually just try my luck and keep drawing the foot until it looks right but it would be nice to get it almost first try

Im very confused if the heel, hinge bones, and navicular the parts that move why teach us about the other tarsals if they don't do anything?

one of my feet has the second toe longer than the big toe, but the other has the big toe longer than the second, so I got mismatched feet
