I think his drawing shows one of the main problems of the Reilly method which is that the lines are streamlined to a fault and the information conveyed becomes formulaic, losing sensitivity to the character and forms of the model. For a far better example of this technique search for Mark Westermoe, also a Fixler disciple and formerly one of Jeff Watts- teachers.

Is there anything particularly bad in drawing gestures without the head first? I find that I can't get my proportions right when I start with the head so I start from the neck downwards. And I can't tell if I'm just picking up a bad habit and reinforcing it now.

Using the rhythm lines is so simple and really works. I was struggling to make my drawing more fluidly and I certainly gonna stick to this tips for the rest of my life. Thanks Proko and Tim Gula

I love how Tim's method for drawing gesture is somewhat different from Stan's, but they both yield amazing results and share the same goals.

His way of narrating reminds me of Bob Ross. very calm and clearly passionate about what he's doing. Great drawings, nice flow!
