How to Draw Backgrounds - Cartoon Drawing - Christopher Hart Clinton: Thanks for this video. I liked how you touched on concepts in perspective, like shadows and amount of detail, that a lot of how to authors don't spend a lot of time on. While we're on the subject, do you think a there's too much emphasis put on horizon lines and vanishing points in some of the stuff that's out there? That's one of the reasons I requested a video on backgrounds. (I know I'm not the only one. I can't speak for the others, but that's why I wanted this) I'm beginning to wonder, in my own learning, whether or not I'm spending too much time on that.

Thanks so much for posting these videos! It's so helpful to watch a professional get a drawing down on paper. For me, the videos provide the missing link between reading about how to draw and producing an actual drawing. They answer questions I've never been quite sure about, like, do professionals block in shapes, draw guidelines, erase? Or do they just show those things to provide training wheels for beginners, but never actually use them once they get good?
Happy new year to you, and keep up the good work!

Great job, Mr. Hart!
Can you maybe, in the future make one more video on drawing backgrounds for something like a comic strip or graphic novel? I always have a hard time drawing them and my art looks plain because of it. Thank you

Hi, great video. I like cartoons however Im into the more Realistic cartoons, if that makes any sense. The creepy and weird stuff rather than cute and cuddly. I was wondering if you could recommend any artists? Thanks!

You're an outstanding cartoonist Mr. Hart. It is too bad that you don't have any tutorials on comic drawing. You would make extraordinary cartoon comics

I recently bought your book, Humongous Book of Cartooning and loved it. Are you planning on releasing any books that focus on drawing backgrounds?

Really thought this one was awesome Chris. Do you think maybe you could do one similar to this with more emphasis on perspective?
