Last year, I grew some and in the fall I infused some olive oil with the flowers.
Today, my granddaughter was here with some allergic reaction, with a rash that was itchy.
I had her put some of the calendula oil on it - and within a few minutes m, the itching had stopped my first wow story with the calendula!
And then I come o line and this video is the first thing I see! Huh!

I grow Calendula Officinalis all over. I make oils, healing salve and lip balm. You can eat the flower. They are coming up now. I only plant one per hole and leave space in between because they get huge. One year I planted them too close and they got powdery mildew. I also make sure now to only water the base of the plant. I love them. They are my favorite.

I remember my grandma used to make calendula cream a long time ago, I will definitely try it in the future, maybe next year.
Do I need the resina variety if I want to make a cream or can I use one of the others Because I really like the one called pink surprise but also I'd like to be able to use it for medicinal purpose.

Love it. It’s a must for me. I’m growing your BI Zeolights this year, I grew a rusty colored one last year that had a ton of variation from one flower to the next, and I’ll be growing the official herbal one next. I’d love to try them all! Thankfully most things tend to leave them alone too.

I struggled with calendula because of many things like my tropical climate, bothersome pests, and unruly children pulling them out. If you live in a tropical climate like I do, you should plant yours in part shade, otherwise they will be stunted. I have the Zen Gold variety if that helps.

Just got a ton of Botanical Interest seed packs for my wedding favors! Our theme is a Midsummer Night’s Dream and thought they would go very well. I loved the illustrations on the packets and you know one of them had to be calendula too!

You are right. I am not growing Calendula. In soviet my garden, Calendula grows me.
It has absolutely overtaken my flower beds. Mostly no complaints except for the spot it threatens to outcompete my native silver lupine.

It turns out, aside from sunflower seeds, Calendula seeds are SO easy to gather and save season after season. Not to mention how beautiful they are and how amazing calendula oil is at healing those gardening boo-boos. :)

Calendula is antifungal, anti-inflammatory, good for digestion, ulcers, IBS, Gerd, it's antioxidant, and anti-virus, and good for respiratory issues. You can make a tea out of it. (Isn't that edible)

Absolutely remarkable! Thanks for showcasing such a beautiful plant Kevin!
Are there any plans to expand epic/botanical interests to ship to Canada There are so few good seed companies up here

I tried Calendula tea foe eye health, but it tastes sooo bad, if I remember I throw some in a smoothie. But they're really pretty, so maybe I'll plant some.

Thanks. Have a lot of volunteer flowers in the front yard. Very pretty flower. Often heard it was good for the skin. Thanks for the lip balm tip!

Calendula was one of the best additions to my garden last year. I used your pacific beauty blend and it's volunteering like crazy everywhere this year

Would you look at that. This video came out right as I was buying my first pack of calendula seeds. As well as nasturtiums and zinnias.

Cooling quickly in the refrigerator i think also helps the texture, it comes out more velvety vs cooling down in room temperature.

Is Calendula like lavender where it can grow in bad soil with little water Seems like a fun pairing I might grow together.
