Old Clothes! 6 Reuse Idea Out of Waste Clothes Doormat Making at Home DIY Craft Susan: Wow hon! I have to comment on the first one, well done! Rag roll work like this looks very nice when you can coordinate colors, but any cotton strips of course will do! Plus you can start it and set the frame aside for when you have more. I have a small square frame my sister made for me at school metal shop. Since girls were only allowed to make one thing, this was a rare and prized gift. I think I shall have to make some things, I think I might have enough material. This is an old craft, and I am so glad you are showing people today. The hardest part is the tying off, maybe you could show that just a little slower for young people new to the crafting. Making jute wrapped fabric or ribbon rugs can be hard for people who are not strong, as is the yarn or rag and old bag mats or rugs. We would use old awls and needles used by sailors, they are quite strong. Plus, elderly folks might be able to wrap the jute or cut things and teach younger folks. Very often people can find just small amounts of something and save it up! At 6 minutes or so in, she is working on a rug with a round piece of denim. You do not have to use a glue gun here, you can also stitch this. Denim backed rugs last a long time, and can often be repaired if stitching comes loose. I do not know how well a glue gun works, though.

The rug at 7: 40 is actually being crocheted but without a regular crochet hook. I use old sheets cut into one really long strip, you get a bigger rug that doesn't shrink and you can just toss in the washer to clean. If you had grandparents from the Depression you already know how to do a lot of these!

These projects take to long. I like do-it-yourself projects that you can do and repurpose stuff with but when it comes to tedious stuff like that it's a no-go. Kudos to the person that has the patience for this.

You are a great artist. But don t waste your talent on old clothes. Donate your unused stuff, there are thousands of poor people who can have a cover on their back. Just a suggestion.

a reasonable video spoilt by that awful sound track. I wouldn t call it music! there is no need for any sound at all. But if it has to be used, a quieter one would be better.

Where is the old clothes, but your work is good it just that you promised us that you will use old clothes, am sure that is the reason everyone is watching this video.

Not old, used clothes, thought I was going to see old leggings, tee shirts, etc being used for these projects. At least a pair of jeans were reused.
