Your video is so calming. From the scenes, to the colors, and surrounding sounds I can literally fall asleep. Thank you for showing us beauty through your creative content. I truly love how you appreciate beauty of nature from the little things to the big things. As beautiful as your surrounding property is, I can only imagine how it looks in person. Again, thank you for sharing this beautiful part of who you are and what you love. Keep up the amazing work!

Lovely video, thanks Erik. The pace of your life and some of the activities remind me of what my stepdad's life used to look like. He didn't build a cabin but he had an orchard where he grew peaches, kiwis and other fruits on a mountain somewhere in Italy. He was a hunter (mostly grouse) and fisherman and he would have absolutely loved your dog. And like you he had a lovely voice.
Thank you so much for sharing what you do.

Watching the joinery process was a sincere pleasure. There is great contentment in doing everything by hand. Every detail every cut is methodical and precise even the process of sharpening the blades. I am adding one of those hand forged axes to my wish list, Your video is one of by favorites and I will watch it frequently. The venison looks delicious, Sending you good thoughts powerful energy and groovy vibes! Skol!

i can really appreciate your honesty with the incorporation of some/very few modern technologies but to try and stay true to the old ways and practices of woodworking and hand forged tools. i love it. i try to be more creative with my hand forged knifes and hand tools in this respect. it’s a primitive feeling inside that i can’t ignore.

I’m fascinated that the hanging deer does not attract bears. Brown bears in the US (grizzlies) are aggressive and would go after the deer and then you and the dog. I think they are related species but dramatically different behavior.
I love the joinery, each connection is an artwork.

We have watched your videos in the past and really liked them because they promoted a return to nature and sustainable values.
But now we are disappointed because you are now behaving like the worst capitalist who only sees profit and money behind everything.

Fewer spiders, please. For those with phobias, it changes a relaxing watch to one full of jump scares and adrenaline. I love the nature shots, and webs are truly beautiful with dew on them. But I could do with one or two less actual spider friend on screen.

Erik! I started following like a month ago, and have since watched everything. You are an inspiration both with the ax and the camera. We have the exact same camera setup. Are you shooting in log and he’s color grading The footage is gorgeous.

15: 08 Erik, I hope those light spots on the wooden shelf aren't mold. Hope you don't have any moisture problems.
Very nice video, craftmanship on top tier.

I almost broke my arms patting myself on the back for replacing two electrical outlets today. Then I watched this. I don’t feel so good about myself anymore lol

The way this ancient Japanese wood joint flexes instead of breaks during earthquakes is brilliant it’s like wisdom carved directly into the structure.
