Umm, in Ga. we catch and release that kind of treasure, especially down in Columbus. That makes you a snitch! A dive team was in Dallas, Ga. about two months ago looking for a murder weapon in a lake I fish in. They should just call you to walk around the lake.

Do you restore any of the rusted items you find? If so, I saw a DIY program shows that if you pour Coke Zero or regular Coke over the rusty item and let it soak a few minutes, it takes all the rust off. Clean as a whistle. Simple.

so that big electronics thing could be a VCR. The larger one with the yellow side has AV cable inputs (pause at 5: 55, very bottom) But i don't know what the other part is. maybe just another VCR component

Definitely a Smith & Wesson Model 36 or 37. More than likely a Model 37, because the difference in the color of the corrosion indicates that the frame is alloy instead of steel.
