Often it is the small streams and lakes of Northern Ontario that offer excellent fishing for wild brook trout. In this special video, Mark Melnyk is at drive-to lodge not far from the border exploring untouched streams and lakes for fat brook trout on a fly. He is a guest of Air-Dale Lodge near Wawa Ontario in Algoma Country

Brookies are my favorite fish to target, especially on dry flies. I fish a freestone (snow melt) stream in the Sierras that looks like one solid rapid but a two foot drift will entice a strike. At 9, 000 ft. elevation they don-t get that big but they-re a blast to catch. Brook trout, number one in my book! Thanks for the entertaining video.

-Brook trout. the most beautiful freshwater fish in North America. - That may be an understatement. Great little segment about the baitfish the trout barfed up vs the fly he used.

Man, really poor fish handling. Also you should use a net that has fish safe rubber mesh. Sad to see.
