I'm going to drop this massive squid jig down 6000ft searching for a giant squid. Paddy the Baddy will also be joining us, fishing for bluefin tuna, and a sixgill shark, one of the deepest shark species in the world. Our adventure begins in the beautiful country of Monaco, a place known for mega yachts, luxury cars, and extremely deep water just off the coast. I connected with my friend Guilluame from Yachting Fishing Specialist, and we began our trip dropping baits in over 2000ft of water. Use big 1m Humboldt squid as bait. Working on a long liner in my teens we brought up many giant squid way before they were ever documented on film. The sharks would get to them before we could get a full intact one. Beaks, eyes, sucker beaks. Etc. The museum here would pay us for all the samples we’d get to them. This was in the early 90s. I still have a beak here that’s well over 1. 5ft.

If you ever feel sea sick - Honestly, the best thing you can do is let it happen, Don't try to hold back the inevitable. Might look messy, but 30mins later after a bit of water and a quiet sit down, your face will be flush with colour again.
Edit: If you don't let it happen - Your entire trip may be ruined. (This also goes toward hangovers)

I think the squid bait is missing lights!
Unlike the sixgill shark, for example, the squid hunts in the deep sea not by smell, but by sight for bioluminescent animals. That's why they have such large eyes!
For the few shots of giant squid, the marine biologists used LED lighting to simulate luminescent jellyfish.

The only fish I catch that stinks more than mullet is a Gizzard Shad. Most people I know call it a Stink Shad. I've heard that some people will throw away their cast nets if they catch stink shads. I don't know if it's hyperbole or not, seems a bit excessive to me, but I have heard about it from several people.

Nest time use 100 pound plus line, stronger electric reel, drop at similar depth, and use an e jelly light to attract the giant squid, btw be prepared to leave that one bait down for more than 24 hours and look for steep drop offs and Trenches btw, that’s the best way to increase the chances
reply

whatever you hooked there it was big.
but it also definitly wasnt just you hooking something like the bottom cause whatever it was you mannaged to reel it in over 3000ft
i think it would have been nice to see what it was but its probably for the best that you snapped the line.

reply

Whatever was on the last one was big. Clearly it never fought right up until the end. It probably has no clue and was just going with the line until it saw the boat. Then, nope. I honestly thought the old line was going to snap before they got it even close to the boat

Mad how little regard is given to a fish and it suffering. People are upset when a hunter takes a picture with a dead deer, if they were like fishermen they would be posing for a photo with a deer gasping and suffering with a couple of badly placed shots.

You loose so many miles of line in the water it’s really sad and you don’t care. You should do a video of you actually caring about the ocean and cleaning out the water. You make all this money off it and you can’t give back and appreciate it.

For some reason, fish or the smell of it puts me off, I can eat tins upon Tins of tuna - is paddy right in what he's saying, Tuna steak, it tastes more like meat I'm not even into fishing, loved this. Sea fishing looks like a different sport to fishing
reply

Why would you gaf that tuna in the damn meat. It wasn’t fighting very hard at the boat and you had plenty of time to pick your gaf spot. Now you have a giant friggin hole right through the top loins of the fish! What a waste of meat!
reply

Really interesting video, but not much sport in using an electric reel. Like you're just doing lazy rich people fishing, not actually doing anything other than dropping a line in the water and letting the rod do everything.
reply

For what those reels cost I would build something. A small crane spool cleaned and polished. Swap the motor for something easily powered by the boat or generator. You need to skip big reels for industrial equipment
reply

maybe they have them or maybe it's impossible but ive never seen a way to reel in giant fish with ur feet like a bike-rig setup instead of reeling in where ur hand/wrist. wouldnt that be a little easier
reply

When he says the swordfish is the most aggressive fish in the ocean and is the only fish you can’t dive with is there any backing for this or is it just his own personal experiences and his thoughts.
reply

Their wont be any blue fin tuna left in 10 and if yoi comment saying other wise well you will see that its true because no country is stopping them being netted and line caught
reply

I just have to say that was Heartbreaking to see that line break hopefully the next time You drop down there You get it up to the boat what ever is down there.
reply

take a shot every time he says look. look look look. look at this. see it look! look look! did you look you gotta look at this feel that! feel that feel it look!
