My Worst Fail Yet.

This was by far my BEST fishing fail yet. Sorry for a boring video, but wanted to show the fails on this channel, not just the successes. Ken: Tip: I developed this while getting into hybrid striper fishing at local Rez.
We not only added the weight (up to 2oz) to end of popper cork, we used electrical tape to secure it/them. After 4th July walking to spillway noticed plastic firework rocket caps on ground which I gathered. The problem with the electrical tape or just loose weights was aerodynamics. The trailer leader & lure (I used flies) would often tangle due to the flight of the cork wobble. I was right that the 1oz weight was perfect for one type of cap with enough space left to fit over end of cork. I experimented until I found a glue that didnt melt the cork or cap. I even got fluorescent paint and painted the caps & rest of cork. It flew like a missile. I had big increase in cast distance.

in north carolina on a pier and the bite is slow i tie on a clark spoon with a 1 or 2 oz trolling sinker (one of the ones with the swivel build in to it) and hang some #60 flouro off the back of it with a clark spoon and just cast/retrieve that right off the end of the pier with a second lighter rod right next to me with a gotcha. what happens is, usually when its slow its because the schools are too far to cast to, so when i get one on the clark spoon a solid couple of fish follow him in because he just all of a sudden goes mad. i sling him over the railing, and just drop my rod, dont even unhook the fish, and before the couple following him can get away i send the gotcha plug out, and suddenly i've got 2 fish on a day where no-one is getting anything.

Couldn't you simply use a jig? Small ones can weight 1-4 oz. got a 1 oz jigpara cast jig, but I never casted it. However, if I managed the TO cast a 10 gram lure a decent 20-40 yards, I'm sure a 30-60 gram jig would frickin fly.

How many foot rod was that? just a question, but why do you'll use shorter rods in usa off the shore for big game fishing rather then longer rods with a good backbone?

Thanks for showing the good and the bad. We learn even from the failures. I'd love to know what really happened. Didn't quite understand. Love you guys. Keep up the good work.
