Rare Trevally Species While Offshore Kayak Fishing (CEVICHE) #FieldTrips Panama

In this episode the action continues at Los Buzos Resort in Panama as we mothership our 12 kayak fishing clients to a protected area called Punta Blanca. There we begin handing out lives baits, dropping the vertical jigs and throwing poppers. The fishing is on FIRE yet again with tons of roosterfish action, and one client hooks into a lesser-known trevally species that we turn into DELICIOUS ceviche back at the lodge

Hi Robert! I write to you from Paris ( France, ,the country of no fish) so excuse my English. I just wanted to congratulate and encourage you to continue your Wonderfull adventures. You make me dreaming every day even if I don't understand English as much as I would. You've been very courageous to leave every thing and travel on a truck around the country, I love your freedom, your decision, your friendship for every one you meet. In May, I go fishing on kayak alone 10 days in the Cote d'Azur, in the very south of France. I provide to catch big fishes in kayak because I take with me only water, oranges, and Chinese instant noodles, that's all. I bring 2 Penn 5000 spinfisher and also a Penn 2000. Maybe I'll be able to catch squids to catch big fishes! Goodbye friend and see you on TV! Emmanuel

THATS NOT A DIAMOND TREVALLY! Nice fish but its a Pennant fish/african pompano not a diamond, very closely related but not the same and easy to tell apart, pennant fish have that much bigger eye and rounder head profile, Diamonds have a much sharper/ more blunt head profile and have a tiny eye in comparison, and Diamonds dont actually live there either, they are found only in the Indian Ocean around tropical Africa and Australia and throughout the South East Asian and Oceana countries and islands in the Western Pacific. Nice fish, but definitely not a Diamond Trevally.

Nice video: -) What kind of rod an reel do you use for bait fishing? I will be in Guanico in one month and stay there for 2 weeks.
Can you recommend some lures for shore fishing? I will take a 10-130 Gramm rod, a 20-45 and a 60-90 grams lure casting rod for the beach fishing. Big hug from cold Germany

That gank on the yellow fin was gross. That was a rat you got way too excited about. Why publicize that? YOU should figure out this fishery, figure out those bites, and do something a little less chaotic and a little more sustainable.

I've never heard of a diamond trevally before and I fish the same waters. Cool, I just added it to my own bucket list right up there with catching a GT.
